"Come, Snarlingpaw." BreezeClaw mewed at the apprentice before bounding out of the clearing followed by the young shecat. They walked for what felt like moons and Snarlingpaw's ears pricked. "Owlclan scent is fading. You stepped over the border and-" She scrunched up her nose, sniffing the air. Her tail twitched in thought for a few heartbeats before looking back up at her mentor. "We're in lonerclan territory. They'll cuff us if they catch us training on their border." BreezeClaw chuckled but her apprentice wasn't amused. "Blackmeadow hasn't explained it to you yet? I'm sure she will eventually. Come we need to be back by moonhigh for your vigil." Snarlingpaw hesitated before following her mentor. They soon reached a clearing, surrounded by shrubs. Blood stained the ground beneath them. The undergrowth protruding. Breezeclaw tread through the shrubs followed by the young apprentice. She was pleased to find Palebird and Firemask already sat within it. Blackpaw and Cricketpaw chatting a few fox lengths away from them. "Where's Cruelpaw and Lonerpaw?" Snarlingpaw questioned as she sat down, curling her tail around her side.
"Cruelpaw is with my mate,Ebonyfate. Lonerpaw is with Sunbreeze." BreezeClaw said before lashing her tail impatiently. "You three should know some battle techniques by now. Snarlingpaw show us what you know, use Blackpaw."
"At least I don't have to fight that bag of bones," Snarlingpaw dramatically sighed, her gaze directed at Cricketpaw.
"Unfortunately for me I have to." Blackpaw growled beneath his breath. "Don't waste your time defending that piece of fox-dung. He'll drag you down with him." Snarlingpaw growled. "I'd rather be dragged down with Cricketpaw than have to follow someone as insecure as you, Snarlingpaw." Snarlingpaw hissed and sprang at him, clawing his muzzle. Blackpaw swung his claws at her shoulder before scrambling from her grip. They began to tackle each other. Tufts of brown and white fur flew into the air, accompanied by some blood. Snarlingpaw was about to pin him down when Blackpaw grabbed her paw within his jaws and used the other to slam her onto the ground. Snarlingpaw yowled out in pain as he began to claw at her light cinnamon stomach. She batted her hind paws onto his stomach before lifting her head to grab his throat with her mouth. She fastened her teeth into his throat, thick warm blood searing into her mouth. "Stop you're going to kill him!" Cricketpaw screeched, his ears flopped against his head. Snarlingpaw let go of her brother's throat and got onto her paws. She wiped the blood from her muzzle using her paw before looking down at Blackpaw. His white fur now stained with crimson as he choked on his blood but managed to scramble back onto his paws. He let heavy breaths, his walk unsteady and wavering with each step before he finally flopped beside Cricketpaw, resting his head on his shoulder weakly. Snarlingpaw stared at him and cringed, sliding her claws back into her paws. "Well done. I expected alot from you, Blackpaw but I'm proud nevertheless because you tried your best." Firemask reluctantly nodded. "I've taught Cricketpaw well, BreezeClaw. I make just as great of a mentor as you did." Palebird dipped her head in respect for the warrior. Breezeclaw gave her paw an awkward lick before lapping it over her ear. "Erm- that's good." She muttered, rapidly licking at her chest.
"He'll be fighting like a true lonerclan warrior in on time. Are you proud?" Palebird's eyes lit up. BreezeClaw didn't dare to meet the yellow marked shecat's gaze and only looked at her paws. "I'll have to find out, Palebird." She lifted her head to Cricketpaw. "I know that you would hate to fight your brother, especially while he's in this condition but as an apprentice with lonerclan blood in his veins you wouldn't and shouldn't let anyone get in you way." Breezeclaw purred in delight. "Despite you not having-" BreezeClaw silenced the shecat with a growl, her tail lashing in irritation. I had to tell her the truth in order to prove that you don't have to have lonerclan blood to fight for them. I should have used a different example. Palepaw's mouth sealed shut, sensing BreezeClaw's irritation.
"Go ahead. We're waiting." Cricketpaw only shot her a blank store, not daring to move a muscle. BreezeClaw could feel her patience slowly draining before she hissed. "Get on with it!" Palebird only stared at her apprentice before glancing at BreezeClaw and noticing the shecat's glare of disapproval. She quickly darted at her apprentice with a nervous gaze mingled with forced anger. "Cricketpaw don't make me attack you- you- mouse-heart!" Cricketpaw kept his blank glare plastered on his face, curling his tail around Blackpaw. "Fine then. If you won't fight Blackpaw then Snarlingpaw will teach you a lesson." BreezeClaw darted to the shecat. Snarlingpaw hurried to shake her head. "Blood is disgusting. I hate clawing fur off, it's just not what I had in mind for what my battle training would look like. I'm getting some air." Snarlingpaw trod through the dead shrubs, her pawsteps slowly sounding more and more faint. Palebird chuckled before shaking her head.
