As the sun began to rise just beyond the horizon, coating the once navy blue sky a pink purplish pretty hue dawn hit the forest, bringing with it another day. A very important day.

Breezeclaw awoke, her fur feeling pricked by the hay constantly pocking at her pelt. How do lonerclan cats sleep like this!? She wondered before using her paw to prod at a sound asleep Dandelionwhisker who grunted sank her head into the hay, curling her tail around her in frustration. "Wake up. You know what's happening today." Breezeclaw's breath touched her ear making her grunt release her paws from beneath her chest, turning to face her with half closed eyes. "Exactly why we need all the energy we can get, by sleeping." She shoved her head into the hay once more, her body flopping down behind her. "Well then I'll go train."

She got to her paws and peered through the slim space provided by the towering boxes which made up the warriors den. She stretched her fur before rapidly licking at her fur, getting rid of the loose strings of hay stuck on it. Once she was clean she left the den.

"You can't go to war without full bellies! Starvation shows weakness so if you don't find anything I'll have to recruit someone else!" Redcrimson, the deputy who was red tortoiseshell mixed tabby hiss. Two warriors her stood in front of him and didn't seem to budge."We grazed the whole territory last night. Leaf-bare is approaching and I think it's already taken it's tole on us first." A brown tabby muttered. "Well then hunt in other clan territories! Take a whole patrol with you, these cats need to be fed!" He let out an in raged yowl which sent them shivering. With a hurried nod they separated to recruit warriors for the patrol. Breezeclaw came into view and Redcrimson gave her an odd look. "Hi, Crimson." She mewed a greeting which wasn't exchanged. "It's Redcrimson and you know that. The other recruits are training just outside the barn. Go join them." Breezeclaw gave an unsure nod before quietly asking, "Shouldn't I have something to eat? I mean-" "There's never enough prey! Especially for cats from other clans! You seem to be unable to not think if your belly for once, now get out my sight!" He let a furious hiss. Breezeclaw didn't scurry away from the deputy and kept her head high, her gaze not portraying the fear surging through her.

"I don't think I'm the only one." She pointed out, glancing at some warriors rapidly chewing on some bones like they were massive crows. Redcrimson glanced before quickly drawing back his gaze, a little tense. "Go, Breezeclaw, please go." He mewed nervously. Breezeclaw nodded before heading off, padding out of the barn. Who in crystalclan does he think he is to talk to me like that!? I'm the one leading this patrol, I should be respected, no matter what rank he is. She wanted to hiss when the training warriors came into view, swiping their claws at each other. Breezeclaw took a deep breath before starting towards them with a forced smile. They were all so.. Skinny, not what Breezeclaw expected. Redcrimson must've been angry because Breezeclaw wasn't as skinny as them, she was well fed so, requesting more prey the moment she woke up would definitely rub him the wrong way.

"Here I am!" A shecat purred from beside her, she spun and saw Dandelionwhisker who chuckled and came to her side, rubbing her tail across her spine. The two exchanged a greeting before turning to the other warriors who grunted. A full white tom with pale yellow eyes and a buff body littered with scars began towards her before halting. He shot her a hostile glance which Breezeclaw exchanged with a tut. She then leapt into the air and flung him away, sending him rolling across the ground. She landed swiftly on her paws and met the stunned gazes of the other cats who sealed their mouths shut before one in particular,

A black, yellow tipped tom with white spots got to his paws held her gaze with burning eyes. "You thought that would scare me? Owlclaw was made a warrior a quarter moon ago, of course he's going to be weak yet aggressive. Try getting past me, shecat." He snarled. Breezeclaw raised a brow before letting her claws slide out her paws, sinking them into the ground beneath her. Talonflight flicked his tail as if waiting for her to make the first move. Talonflight... With a name like that he must be good a dodging. Breezeclaw eyed her surroundings, there was stack of chopped wood behind him but also another pile beside him. Does he think I'm stupid? With a flick of irritation she lunged to the side. Talonflight basically leapt into her paws, he let out a yowl as his torso got caught within her claws, piercing his fur and drawing blood in her path.

"Talonflight isn't smart nor swift. He just doesn't know when to shut up." A shecat hissed from the others. Breezeclaw suddenly felt claws swipe across her muzzle, a burning sensation following afterwards. She let out a growl and lunged for him, aiming for his shoulders. He used his hind paws to kick her back, sending her bowling across the ground. The air might have been knocked out of her but she didn't stall and hurried back to her paws, she grabbed him by the scruff and flung him into the air before pinning him the moment he hit the ground, his neck held by her paw. Talonflight squirmed to no avail before he seemingly accepted defeat and went limp. Breezeclaw squinted her eyes and pretended to loosen her grip on his shoulders. Just as she expected Talonflight shot up, his muzzle aiming for her neck when he came crashing down, Breezeclaw rolled her eyes and let go of him. He just looked so pathetic.

The training went on until sun-high.

Dandelionwhisker swung her forearm at Bleach, knocking him to ground just as Cruelstar and Redcrimson came into sight. "Weren't we suppose to leave at dawn? We could have wasted a chance to win!" Owlclaw quickly stumbled back when Redcrimson hissed, "Don't question your leader, Owlclaw. Cruelstar has his reasons for not leaving at dawn. It doesn't matter because we're leaving now." Redcrimson said, eyeing the battle scarred warriors before nodding with contentment. Coldheart made his way towards them with a smirk."Where were you?" Breezeclaw asked. "Training and sharing prey with Crimson." He mewed. I can't imagine how snappy their conversations could be. Redcrimson was never this snappy or rude. Did the deputy position get to his head?

She was snapped from her thoughts when Cruelstar began, "Let's not waste anymore daylight." He turned and began towards the white picked fence, followed by the warriors, Crow being the rear and Cruelstar leading them. One by one the swiftly leapt, Breezeclaw gripped the picked fence with her claws and managed to climb her way up. As they walked something caught her mind. What if Ebonyfate refuses to lead alongside me? Will I have to kill him? Surely I'd have to- he didn't make me weak did he? I swore that he would never get in the way of my plans. What has better worth? Leadership, everyone bowing their heads and obliging to whatever I demand or.. Love. She quivered. Why would I want the love of one cat while I could have the power and loyalty of many? I'll give him a choice and if he doesn't take it then he's weak and isn't worth my time. The smell of the owlclan ferns protruded her nostrils, she felt her pelt tingle, realizing today was in fact the day. The day she would lead, the day her reign would begin, the day she would be feared by many and torment those who defy her. She could already feel the authority surging through her body when the reached the entrance, ferns coated it and the warriors made way for her. Dandelionwhisker gave her smile and a lick across the ear. Coldheart looked at her, a twisted grin spread across his face, watching as the shecat emerged into the camp.
