"What was that? You actually thought that would affect me?" Sharppaw sprang away from Lonerpaw, landing on her paws swiftly, lashing her tail triumphant. Lonerpaw hissed and lunged for her, his claws lashing furiously at her pelt. Sharppaw managed to lunge upward, catching her brother off guard as he stumbled beneath her paws. Lonerpaw went limp, his gaze unreadable. Sharppaw paused, thinking he gave up when the tomcat leapt from beneath him only to come crashing down as Sharppaw held his tail down, a smug grin on her face. Sharppaw hurled herself at him as their pelts scuffed in the tall grass. "Whoever is mentoring Sharppaw is doing a great job. I've never considered using such a technique." Blackmeadow grinned in delight. It's a basic battle move. "Canterhop is something alright." Breezeclaw purred. "She's the leader of the group of rouges who killed Crowstarch." She added. "So I've heard." Blackmeadow gave her daughter and delighted glance before drawing her attention back to the tackling apprentices. "Lonerpaw is disappointing me. Sunbreeze is way too soft on him . It's like they haven't practiced battle training yet." Firemask interrupted. "Sunbreeze doesn't want to rush him. He isn't doing good on hunting yet so she's waiting for him to improve before she teaches him battle techniques."
Blackmeadow let out a dreadful sigh. "Looks like we'll have to sharpen his skills then." Breezeclaw scoffed. "That's enough. Lonerpaw get out, Blackpaw, in the ring." Blackmeadow ordered.
Blackpaw hesitantly got to his paws, exchanging a smug look with his sister before squaring up. At sound of Blackmeadow's yowl they sprang at each other. Sharppaw leapt into the air and flung her brother away with her forearms, landing swiftly on her paws. Blackpaw recoiled and lunged for her once more. She grabbed his paw within her jaw, knocking him off his paws before pinning him onto his stomach. The tom went limp but Sharppaw wasn't falling for it. She instead pretended to loosen her grip on his shoulders. The moment he tried to shoot up her swung her claws at his hindpaw, making him stumble to the ground in pain. He wasted no time to slash his claws across her cheek as they battled tooth and claw. The tackle ended with Sharppaw batting her hindpaws at his belly, knocking the air out of him before he collapsed to the ground, out of breath. "Perfect. Snarlingpaw you're up." Snarlingpaw shot her sister a glare before reluctantly starting towards her.
In the distance a brown spotted golden shecat ran towards them, out of breath. "Is Breezeclaw here?" She gasped for air. BreezeClaw's ear twitched as she got to her paws. "You're wanted by Cruelstar." He muttered. Breezeclaw furrowed her eyes in confusion. What would cruel star want with me? As she approached them she noticed how Coldheart and blackmeadow stared at her, the stare didn't portray any emotion but Breezeclaw could tell they were flaring with anger. She snapped back and drew her attention back to the shecat. As they started away from the training Breezeclaw couldn't help but question her, "Who are you?"
"Me- Dandelionwhisker." She responded, her breaths still quick and heavy as they padded. "Dandelionwhisker... You killed Hatredhazel?"
"Well yes. It was quite easy if I'm being honest, Coldheart and Blackmeadow shame me for it but Hatredhazel was weak and an attitude like that won't help you get far." She continued on, "You're right. I've killed many cats. I've basically lost count of the number of cats I murdered." She let out a mrrow of laughter to which Dandelionwhisker chuckled humorously. "It happens. You're from owlclan?" Breezeclaw nodded, "We'll be taking over owlclan soon. In no time we'll start sending out kill patrols." She mewed in delight. "How is Blackstar's leadership?" Breezeclaw pricked up the nervousness in her voice and hesitantly answered honestly, "Not the best. He hasn't lifted a single paw when it comes to lonerclan. Everyone sees him as a savior and for some reason he seems to want to keep that image."
Dandelionwhisker winced, "I wouldn't expect his reign to be the best. He wasn't born in lonerclan y'know?" Breezeclaw's ears pricked forward. "He wasn't?" Dandelionwhisker's eyes widened. "Of course he wouldn't tell his kits. He was raised in snakeclan until it got attacked and driven out by us. He and his mother came here until she was killed. I don't understand what Blackmeadow saw in him."
The topic of their conversation switched to how life in lonerclan was great and superior until they halted at the barn doors. Breezeclaw turned to face Dandelionwhisker while briefly touched her nose against her shoulder before Breezeclaw began into the barn, the air felt cold in the lonerclan barn. Blood still stained the ground, patches of loose old moss were littered around and rays of light protruded through the holes in the roof, scattered on the barn floor. Breezeclaw padded around until she recognized a huge cardboard box, beaten and battered but shaded quite far from the rest of the barn. She took a deep breath before touching her nose a few times against it. "Permission to speak, cunning, Cruelstar?" She asked in a low toned voice. A red patched black tom made his way out of the bow and stretched his body, his tail flicking behind him as he turned and halted at Breezeclaw. Breezeclaw kept her tail and chin high, not intimidated by the leader. She couldn't help but examine his slim figure, long ragged claw marks were stretched across his torso, they were quite signifying.
"You may." He said sharply. "I was informed that you needed me?" "Needed is a big word, I simply called you. I didn't see you at the kill patrol you were assigned." He eyed her. "I was put on dawn patrol." She informed him, he curled his lip, "Where do your loyalties lie?" He asked sharply. "Within the borders of lonerclan of course." She mewed calmly. "Next time you don't follow my orders because of your owlclan duties you'll find yourself leaving my barn with a huge limp, am I clear?" Breezeclaw gave a slightly hurried nod before meeting his cold gaze. "With that out of the way, I'm sick of waiting. When does Blackstar plan on taking over owlclan? We wouldn't mind providing more lonerclan warriors if those are his worries."
"Not soon, the cats of owlclan view his as a savior and he intends to keep that image." Breezeclaw announced. Cruelstar curled his lip into a snarl, revealing his sharp fangs. "Of course he does. I knew we couldn't trust a cat with not an ounce of lonerclan blood in them." He took a breath before going on, "Have there been any new battles recently?" Breezeclaw nodded, "We faced a harsh war against Owlstar and his rogues a few days ago." what's he planning to do with that information? "Perfect, I don't care what Blackstar wants. Cats of owlclan would be way too exhausted from the war, giving them a lower chance of winning. Right, Curlstorm!" He yowled and a black tortoiseshell tom hurried to his side, "Yes my leader?" "Get on the plank and announce that we'll be taking over Owlclan tomorrow at dawn. You'll pick out the warriors who'll join Breezeclaw once she announces it to those mange pelts.
Curlstorm nodded and began to make his way up some stacked hay and boxes until he gracefully leapt onto the plank, where meetings were held and turned to face the lonerclan cats. His soft and quiet voice rose quite high that Breezeclaw couldn't believe it was the same cat.
"Cats of lonerclan, our cunning leader, Cruelstar demands that you gather beneath the plank for a clan meeting." Cats slowly slowly began to circle beneath the plank, once a quiet crowd was formed he continued. "Tommorow at dawn we will take over owlclan, the kill patrol will be lead by Breezeclaw and those who will accompany her will be, Redcrimson, Coldheart, Dandelionwhisker, Owlclaw, Talonflight, Crow, Bleach, Lionstrike, Tigertalon and Rabbithop. Sharpen your skills and get a good rest, tomorrow we fight a battle we must not lose. Meeting dismissed. " Everyone slowly cleared up and scattered back into their little groups. Breezeclaw made her way back to the edge of the scattering crowd, she greeted a few warriors before spotting Dandelionwhisker and lightly nudging her with her shoulder." Hope you're prepared for it." Dandelionwhisker tutted, meeting her gaze with shining eyes. "You know I am!" She leapt to her paws, her claws sliding in and out of her paws. "I'll have to inform Blackmeadow, firemask and the apprentices but I think I'll spend the night here to train." Dandelionwhisker's eyes lit up , "That's great!" She then lightly pounced onto her, they went bowling across the grass with Breezeclaw ending up beneath her paws. "I thought I'd have to hate you for killing Hatredhazel but I never liked him and you're turning out to be the best cat I've ever met, even before a certain someone she purred." Who's this certain someone? " Dandelionwhisker purred with amusement, using the tip of her tail to bat BreezeClaw's shoulder. BreezeClaw's ears curled in embarrassment. "Who's to say it isn't you? " She shot her a cheeky grin. Dandelionwhisker grunted and tackled her to the ground, their pelts scuffed in the soil until Breezeclaw managed to scramble away from her.
"So we're training now huh? How about I race you to the training grounds!" She then raced off without warning, leaping over the fence and scurrying away.
Watching as she ran off into the distance Dandelionwhisker couldn't help but think to herself, crystalclan is she charming? She shook the thoughts from her head and started to her paws, fastening her pace in attempt to catch up.
