My best friend is sitting next to me as I wait for this stupid test to tell me if I'm gonna have a baby.... "Oh my God, Jaime. I'm pregnant!"
She hugs me and I worry as I think about how I can tell my boyfriend.
He's supposed to be playing basketball for LSU and going after his dream of becoming a pro.
How can I tell him this? It will ruin his dreams!
"I'm gonna go talk to Elliot about this."
She nods and I walk down the stairs, yell goodbye to her parents and call Elliot.
"Hey, Dakota. I'm glad you called, can you meet me at the ball park?"I tell him yes and he hangs up as I get into my car. I see him standing next to his truck, looking gorgeous as always.
His dirty blonde hair, hanging in his light blue eyes as he leans over his phone, "Elliot."
He turns and looks at me, "Umm... I don't know how to say this Kota. But I think we should break up. I mean you're going to Auburn for journalism and I'm going to LSU to play basketball so... Uh... Ca.. can we go for a walk?"
I nod and as we sit on the bench about five minutes away from the cars he continues, "I think we should call it off. We won't have time together and I really love you. But I think this is best for both of us."
I grab onto his shoulder, "Elliot we can't let this happen."
He stands up," I'm sorry Dakota, but we can't be all the way across the US and be together. Bye, Kota."
He kisses me and as he walks off I whisper through my shock and escaping tears,"Don't go, Elliot. I'm pregnant." But he continues walking.
