"I can't believe he's moving," Gracie said as Gina put the finishing touches on her makeup. It was New Year's Eve and after a very uneventful Christmas, Gracie was ready to spend the night hanging out with her friends and that started with her going to Ashlyn's place so the three of them, plus Kourtney, could give each other makeovers.

The girls decided to go with a 2007 theme for the night since at midnight Miss Jenn was supposed to announce the next show East High would be doing, and pretty much everyone else had already guessed it was High School Musical 2. The girls had met up a few hours before people would start to show up to get themselves ready and talk about what they have been doing over break.

Gracie was just catching them up about her mostly uneventful break and was getting to the only thing worth noting. The fact the the day after Christmas, Ricky told her the news that he and his dad were moving into an apartment.

"It's just weird to think about," Gracie thought aloud as she closed her eyes to let Gina continue her eyeshadow. "We've always been neighbors, and now it's not like he can come by at a moments notice."

"When is he moving?" Kourtney asked as she put the finishing touches on her jewelry.

"Mid-January, I think," Gracie tried to remember exactly what Ricky said when he was talking to her, but by then she was so in shock in was hard for her to remember most of the details.

"Maybe him moving is a good thing," Gina shrugged as she put down her brush and inspected her work.

"I don't think he would agree," Gracie shook her head. "He doesn't do the best with change."

"Then he's got a lot coming," Kourtney muttered under her breath, getting Gracie to look at her confused.

"What?"

"Nothing," Kourtney brushed it off with a smile. She sat on the bed next to Gracie. "Now enough about Ricky, what I want to know more about is Blake."

"Yes!" Ashlyn smile grew as she look at Gracie wanting to know more about their relationship. "Tell us everything."

"There's not much to tell," Gracie shrugged. "We've been hanging out outside of school a little bit. That's about it."

"Oh, come on," Kourtney pushed. "There has to be more than that, I mean, he did you a huge favor for our HSM. I doubt if anyone of us asked him to help, he would have."

"And don't forget the rose he gave you opening night," Ashlyn added.

"And you do seem really happy when you go to be with him," Gina smiled at the girl knowingly.

"Okay, yes, those are mainly true," Gracie nodded. "But we're just talking. Trying to get to know each other. I don't know if there is anything else right now."

"Okay," Kourtney said, clearly not believing the girl.

The doorbell rang getting Ashlyn to leave them to let the guests in.

"Am I all set?" Gracie looked at Gina for approval.

With a grin Gracie nodded, standing up so Gracie could finish getting ready before the two girls went downstairs, leaving Kourtney behind who was trying to get her hair to perfection.

"2007 is a very ironic and on point theme," they heard Carlos tell Ashlyn as they turned the corner to go down the stairs, "for reasons that I'm not at liberty to disclose until midnight."

"It's because we're doing High School Musical 2, right?" Gina asked as she and Gracie met up with the little group.

"Gina! Gracie!" Seb smiled looking at their outfits with a smile. The girls gave him a hug as Carlos looked at them confused.

"What? How do you guys know?" Carlos questioned as Kourtney joined them. "Did Miss Jenn tell you?"

"Sweetie, use your inside voice," Seb reminded him.

"I'm Mexican and gay, this is my inside voice," Carlos responded, getting laughter from the girls.

"I mean, why wouldn't we do HSM 2?" Kourtney looked at Carlos like he was crazy for not knowing that they would figure it out. "Our HSM was instantly legendary, and we already have the cast and half the costumes."

"Man, I was so excited to hold that secret over everybody's head," Carlos looked slightly bummed.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find something else to hold over our heads in no time," Gracie reassured, getting Carlos to laugh and nod.

"Come on," Gina pulled the girl away from the group so they could talk as they got out the snacks.

"You know why I said that maybe Ricky moving could be a good thing, right?" Gina asked, handing Gracie some dip from the fridge.

"Let me guess, does have to do with 'finding my happiness'?" Gracie gave her a pointed look.

"I think it would be good for you to have some space from him," Gina explained. "And not have him constantly barging in your room at any given notice."

"Yeah, you're right," Gracie nodded as she played with one of her rings nervously. "And it's just like you said before, I need to start focusing on other relationships. Which is why I invited Blake to the party."

"You did?" Gina eyes widened with excitement. "That's amazing! When is he going to get here?"

"He said around 9 o'clock," she said trying to hide the slight blush heating up her face.

"Well, in that case," Gina held up her soda, "to a new year, new you."

Gracie couldn't help but smile as she clinked her soda with the girl, looking forward to the night ahead of them.

Hey, this is Blake. Leave me a message. *Beep*

Gracie sighed as she stood outside looking for any hint of Blake, with her phone pressed to her ear.

"Hey, Blake, it's me again," Gracie said after hearing Blake's voicemail for the third time. "I'm just calling to see if you are okay. You said you would be here at 9, and it's now 9:45. I'm getting worried. Just call me back when you can. Bye."

Gracie ended the phone call heading back inside to get out of the cold.

"Hey," Gina greeted her as the door closed behind her. "Did you get through?"

"No," Gracie answered with a million thoughts racing through her head. "I don't know what to do. I mean, something could have happened to him. Maybe he's hurt or something happened to a family member. Or maybe he just stood me up, and didn't even bother to try to call me about it. Maybe I'm just making a fool of myself again."

"Come on," Gina looped her arm through the girl's. "You still have all of your friends here and we are not going to let your night get ruined because of one person. We are going to have fun tonight, whether or not Blake decides to come."

GRACIE:
You know what? Gina's right. I'm not letting anyone ruin this night for me. Not Blake. Not Ricky. No one. Cause after all these weeks of just cazy emotions, I deserve to have fun. And what do I find fun? Causing chaos.
