Gracie stood outside the auditorium with her heart in her stomach. Her eyes traced over what should've been a wall to the auditorium, but it was now a burnt hole leading to even more distruction."Oh, my gosh," Nini gaped at the damage as the theatre kids gathered together. "What happened?"
"It's okay. Nobody was hurt," Miss Jenn announced, walking up to the kids. "There was a small fire in the theater over the holiday and the sprinklers did their job."
"We're almost done in here," One of the emergency team said, getting the group to look at her. "Just have to finish up in the faculty room next. Some curcuits blew in there over the break. Unfortunately, the show cannot go on."
"What?" Miss Jenn asked as the kids looked at each other warily.
"The fire ripped through half your costumes and the sprinklers ruined a bunch of your sets," She explained holding up a still smoking basketball. "I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to red tag the entire backstage area for a month at least."
"Did she just say costumes?" Kourtney watched the lady walk away with a hopeless expression.
"Okay. Okay, listen up," Miss Jenn turned to the kids no knowing what to do. She needed more time to come up with another plan. "Hug your neighbor, take a moment and let's reconvene in the cafeteria after school to talk about options. Nini and Ricky, spread the word."
Nini and Ricky nodded as they split up, leaving the rest of the kids in shock. However, Gracie quickly put her shock aside as she pulled out her phone and went to her and Gina's text thread.

Everything okay on your end?
'Cause we just had a lot of things blow up

"Hey," Ricky greeted as he sat down next to Gracie in the cafeteria. "Have you heard from Gina at all? How's she doing?"
"Um..." she checked her phone for any notifications. "I haven't received a text from her since yesterday. She still seemed pretty upset though."
"Okay, people," Miss Jenn clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Wait, where's Gina?"
"I think she's going through a family thing right now," Ashlyn explained.
"Okay, prayers to our Gina," Miss Jenn said, before moving on. "I'm really not sure what to say. You've all worked so hard. I've seen you all grow so much. But if we don't have a theater, we don't have a show."
"Come on, Miss Jenn, we've gotta do something," Carlos said as conversation started up around them.
"I think we...I don't know, I guess we could consider other venues?" Miss Jenn looked at everyone for an ideas, making them break into side chatter to see if they knew any locations.
"Oh, oh," Ashlyn raised her hand, "what about the old Kingston downtown?"
Miss Jenn shook her head. "It's condemned."
