𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 [𝐣𝐣 𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤]

𝐭𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥

By the time I walked in the church, they were standing in the middle of where the pews would've been, looking up at Pope as he climbed the rafters.

"What is happening?" I asked Sarah as I walked in behind her.

"Pope found the-" As she spoke Pope was knocking off the wood to reveal the golden cross.

"Cross." It was shining through and sparkling. I have never seen something so sparkly. I couldn't believe he found the cross. Or that it was right next to a giant wasps nest. Pope was trying to remove the wood carefully but was still getting stung. He cried out with every sting.

"I think it's falling." Kiara said as Pope dropped the crowbar and began to fall too.

"No, I think he's falling." I started looking for something to cover the floor for a softer landing while Pope struggled to hold on. John B grabbed the other cushions and tossed them down next to mine. Once Pope hit the ground, the cross wasn't that far behind him.

"Everything okay?" We leaned over to look at him to make sure he didn't get hurt in the fall.

"You did not tuck and roll, that's for sure." JJ said as he back away from Pope. I stayed next to him just to make sure the stings weren't bad. I watched his eyes widen and the next thing I knew I was landing on top of John B with the cross where I had been sitting.

"You okay Lou?" I nodded as he helped me back on my feet.

"Pope, are you okay?" John B and JJ asked as they walked over to him.

I stood behind them dusting myself off, "That's one way to get it down." I kept my eyes on Pope as he fell back onto one of the seats. His stings were getting bigger and I could see his face beginning to swell. "Pope, are you okay?" As I walked closer, I could see just how bad his eyes were swelling.

Everyone was admiring the cross and talking about how much money they could get for it, "It's my ancestor's cross. It's bigger than money and the world's going to know the truth." Pope said to them as he nodded at my question.

"And if we don't get this shit out of here before Limbrey gets here, no one will know." Everyone gathered around to try and lift it but Pope was having a serious allergic reaction and could only lift so much. Me and John B were trying to pull the top while JJ grabbed the middle, leaving Kiara and Sarah lifting the bottom.

John B instructed "You guys pull."

"I'm gonna need a little more pull, Pope." We were struggling tremendously. It was heavy and we needed heavy equipment to move it. Not 6 teenagers with average upper body strength. Even though we managed to get it off the ground a smidge, we still struggled.

"Who's not lifting now?" I asked as I struggled to carry what I realized was the bottom of the cross with John B. It felt like the top wasn't even being brought off the ground.

"Okay guys, I'm gonna..." Pope trailed off and dropped his part and fell into one of the pews making everyone else drop their parts too.

"You almost dropped it on my foot!" JJ yelled at Sarah as he backed away from the cross.

"That's because I was the only one actually doing something." They continued on causing John B to jump in as I caught my breath. I looked over to Pope who looked like he couldn't even breath.

"Guys!" I called as he started to gasp for air. "John B!" he turned away from the conversation and rain over to us. "We gotta get him some help." I pleaded as I lifted his arm to go around my shoulder. John B threw his other arm around his shoulders as JJ stayed behind to cover the cross.

"Kie, sit in the back with Pope. I have to drive." Once everyone was in, we waited for JJ to join us. He needed to hurry because Pope didn't have long.

"He needs a shot!" Kiara said as he jumped in the passenger seat. I nodded and took off as JJ gave me directions to his cousin Ricky's house. When we got there, Pope was barely breathing and I was obnoxiously honking the horn. Pope's airway was nearly closed and John B struggled to hold him up.
