𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 [𝐣𝐣 𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤]

𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐞, 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞

Tannyhill was the last place I wanted to be. After everything, I wanted to stay far away from the place as I could. But it didn't matter how I felt because we were there anyway, looking over the wall at Rafe getting out of the big moving truck he drove past us in only an hour ago.

"How much do you want to bet he has the cross in the truck, right now?" Pope asked while I kept my eyes on Rafe. I feel like Liam's phone call earlier was part of the reason he knew where to find the cross.

"There's only one way to find out." Sarah hopped down from looking and so did I. She wasn't going in alone. As I passed the boys, a hand fell on my shoulder. I looked to see it belonged to JJ and stopped as John B followed after Sarah instead.

"I swear there's more relationship drama in this friend group than on my mom's soap opera." Pope said, rolling his eyes.

"You want to talk about us, right now?" I asked JJ sarcastically earning one of his side smiles and a head shake. I turned my head back to where John B and Sarah were still standing. John B really had terrible timing. "Shitbird, let her go." I called out but was ignored. Then they kissed and he came walking back with a little bounce in his step.

Pope started, "Did you want us to preform your vows for you?"

"Did you say, 'be safe'?" JJ asked with a grin.

"Could you have taken any longer?" I finally chimed in.

"I did say 'be safe'." John B admitted as we climbed back onto the wall.

"Any longer and JJ and Laney would've started breaking out their relationship talk." Pope said to John B as we watched Sarah make her way to the truck. I rolled my eyes. We would never have that conversation in front of anyone, we could barely have it with each other.

"Kinda have to have a relationship to talk about." I could see JJ nudge John B out the corner of my eye but I didn't say anything. I kept my eyes on the front door and hoped Rafe didn't come back when Sarah was over there.

When nothing was working, Pope started flailing his arms to flag her to come back but she only moved closer to the front door. "Do the bird call!"

John B attempted but it ended up sounding nothing like a bird call, "Was that a dying chicken?" JJ asked as I climbed down and walked to the gate. They looked at me, but I kept going. I walked past the truck and looked for any sign of Sarah or the keys but had no luck. Moving to the front door and opening it quietly, I called out for Sarah. With no reply I continued on around the house.

I whispered, "Sarah!" as I made my way to the steps. I could hear Wheezie upstairs talking to someone, I assumed it was Rafe and tried my best to avoid him as I kept looking for Sarah.

I ran into her on the second floor as she was trying to break into Rafe's room. I hid as she went in and grabbed the keys. When the coast was clear, we made a b-line for the front door. She opened the driver's door and I climbed in but she continued onto the back.

I whispered, "Seriously?" to myself as I saw Rafe and Liam walking into the porch as they talked. I scooted over into the passenger seat and tried to hide in the shadow but I knew they were going to see Sarah. When Rafe was past the door, I got out quietly and walked along the side of the truck slowly. I heard a struggle so I hurried my pace and saw he had grabbed up Sarah.

"Rafe! Get off." I said, feeling someone wrap their arms around mine. I looked back to find Liam.

Sarah was trying to fight him off and I met them on the opposite side of the truck after I got out of Liam's grasp and tried to help her as well.

"Get off of her!" I hit him repeatedly, but he didn't budge. As I went to lay another hit on him, the back of his hand landed on my cheek and caught me off guard as it knocked me on the ground. He stopped fighting with Sarah for a second and looked at me with sad eyes, like he hadn't meant to do it. But he did and I wasn't going to let it slide. I had no more energy to fight him as he took Sarah in the house, I was afraid to follow him in. Liam stood a few feet away from me, shocked to see what had happened. He looked remorseful, like he wanted to apologize. But he didn't.
