VIVIAN POV

"Hey, are you awake?" I inquired, prodding the unconscious man repeatedly.

Moments ago, I had discovered that this man with blue hair was under a curse. I was completely surprised to find a curse on him, of all people. I couldn't help but wonder why he had a curse.

Did other witches exist?

Could orcs possess magical abilities? I didn't have answers to these questions, and I had no idea who had cast the curse.

All I knew was that it seemed like a very serious curse.

I could see a deep black shadow cast over his skin. Being a witch myself and having placed curses on many people, I could tell that whoever had cast this curse meant business.

Usually, when I cursed people, it was for a reason. From pissing me off or by other things that make me angry enough to make me want to curse them!

Despite being the most wanted criminal in the Kingdom of Helios, I didn't consider myself evil. The reason for my notoriety stemmed from a dispute with the previous king, who sought petty revenge after I turned him into a duck.

But it wasn't my fault!

The former king had tried to cheat me. This all happened years ago, before I had honed my skills as a witch. I had a small elixir shop where I sold various remedies, and it became quite popular among the nobles. The 78th king of Helios even made a deal with me. But instead of being a fair employer, he treated me like a slave.

The king had exploited my potion-making abilities, and I finally quit after he demanded millions of elixirs for his upcoming war.

Yea... a war he wanted to start!

I had had enough of his nonsense because he broke multiple agreements and was simply crazy. He was by far the worst boss I'd ever had!

As I grumbled about my past grievances, I noticed the blue-haired man beginning to stir. Seeing him in pain due to the curse, I decided to try to weaken the curse with my powers. Although I couldn't lift it entirely, a potion in my possession would be more effective. Most curses could be removed by taking elixirs; they were usually not permanent.

I watched him slowly rise and scan his surroundings. His green eyes met mine, and he looked confused. His eyes widened, and he patted his body as if checking something.

"What happened?" he asked, his curiosity evident.

"You're okay, don't worry. It's not an illness. You have a curse that someone put on you," I explained.

His face registered shock when I revealed the truth. His eyes widened, and his mouth fell open at the mention of the word 'curse.'

"CURSE?!" he exclaimed.

"Yes," I confirmed.

He was shocked and questioned if it was really possible. I took a moment to explain to him what a curse was, just to ensure he understood.

After a few minutes of conversation, the atmosphere between us fell silent. The blue-haired man in front of me stood there, seemingly lost in thought.

As the sun set, I began to feel nervous for some reason. His words about large monsters lurking at night echoed in my mind. Something about how this forest turned into a breeding ground for dangers after dark sent shivers down my spine. With my broom broken, flying away wasn't an option.

Even a powerful witch like me has limits when it comes to fighting off monsters. If I stayed here at night, I doubted I could survive until morning. I tried to talk to the blue-haired man, but he seemed lost in thought, ignoring me even though the sun was setting.
