As soon as I got out of that elevator, I grabbed the battery on the floor and left with it. I thought about taking it to my room and hiding it behind some object, but I can't risk it. If Luna sees me coming in with this, she'll ask a lot of questions and she'll definitely want to fliddle with this.

Therefore, I decided to place the battery inside a ventilation duct that I found in the hallway. As I approached the duct, I removed the ventilation grill using a throwing knife and placed the battery inside. Before putting the grille back on, I made sure to push the battery in a little so that no one could see it easily.

After that, I replaced the ventilation grill and closed that duct, making it nearly impossible for anyone to see it from here.

Even though I know that the battery was abandoned in one of the store rooms before, I don't want anyone to get it. If it was abandoned and is still intact, I prefer to make sure it stays with me. Maybe I'll use it on some car out there instead of using it to make a bomb. I hope some car in this city just needs a new battery to work.

That done, I walked down the hallway and went to my room. As soon as I opened the door, the first thing I saw was Luna sitting on her bed with a phone in her hands. She was extremely concentrated and her fingers tapped the phone screen quickly as if she were trying to achieve some goal. I could hear blocks fitting together and music coming from her phone, so she's probably playing Tetris. And looks like she's in a hard level.

When I got in the room, she looked at me and paused the game.

Luna: - Hey! You came!

As soon as she got up from the bed, Luna ran over to me and hugged me. She came so quickly that I ended up taking two steps back due to the strength of her hug.

Hannah: - Did you think I was kidding? - I said with a light laugh. - I said I would be back. Especially because I'm going to sleep here from now on.

Then she stopped hugging me and looked at some object.

Luna: - Oh. Mommy and some men brought you a bed. It's the one near the other window.

When I looked at the bed, I saw a white mattress and a pillow that looked comfortable. Looks like I'm going to sleep in a real bed this time. Finally. I was tired of sleeping on any old mattress I found lying around.

Hannah: - Cool. It looks comfortable. Thank your mother for me later.

Luna: - I suggested that you share the bed with me, but she wouldn't allow it.

Hannah: - Your bed is too small to fit two people, Luna. Maybe it's better this way. You need your own space as much as I do.

Luna: - I thought you would like sleeping with me. I just wanted to be kind.

Hannah: - That's not what I meant. You did were kind. But there are things in life that we can't have. Don't be sad. That's normal.

Luna: - It's ok. At least you'll sleep in the same room as me. I'm happy about that.

Hannah: - I don't usually have company when I sleep at night. Not for the long term, at least. It will be a different experience for me.

Luna: - Me neither. It's the first time I've slept with someone other than mommy.

Hannah: - Sorry if I talk to myself while I'm sleeping. Sometimes I have some strange nightmares.

Luna: - Nightmares? - She said worried. - What kind of nightmares?

Hannah: - What's the matter? Do you think a person who fight volatiles on a daily basis doesn't have nightmares?

Luna: - Do you have nightmares about volatiles? I thought you weren't afraid of them. - She said afraid. - It must be horrible.
