Ji-Hoon
My alarm woke me up and I immediately put on my gym clothes and headed out for a jog after some light exercises. An hour passed by, and I entered my apartment and into the living room. I then looked at the time as I made my protein shake. It was already seven and I needed to be at work in an hour. I rolled my eyes and it landed on the card that I placed on the counter when I got home last night. Her name was... Amalia, wasn't it? I read it on the back of the card yesterday.
I also read that her agency's name was Excelerate Entertainment. And the manager's number was written at the bottom.
I shook my head and turned around to drink my shake. She reminded me of someone but I highly doubted that they were the same person. That person had a completely different personality than her... I shook my head again and mumbled to myself "Right now I need to get to work before I'm late again like last time."
After taking a shower and self-grooming, I headed to the door and grabbed my things. My eyes landed on the card again and I took it with me without thinking.
************
I entered the restaurant and was immediately greeted by an unhappy man. He glared at me with his arms folded and beckoned me to follow him to the office since there were many people there. I reluctantly followed him and as soon as I closed the door he yelled at me.
"Are you seriously late...again?"
I bowed with a nonchalant expression on my face "Sorry."
That only made him angrier.
"And what's with the attitude? Do you seriously think just because you got the position of manager of this restaurant without having any experience at all, you can disrespect me like that? How on earth did you even do that?"
I looked at him but didn't answer which made him step forward.
"Hey. Do you think that you can act high and mighty just because of some luck you have? I don't know what you did or how you convinced the Chairman's son the CEO to be Manager when you have no experience, but I do know that people like you won't even last long here. You hear me?"
I nodded and his frown deepened.
"Answer me when I'm talking to you!"
"If I answer you, you'll get angry and when I remain silent, you'll still get angry. I don't know what response you're looking for...sir."
His eyes widened in shock, and he lifted his hand before sighing and placing it on my shoulder. "Choi Ji-Hoon. That's your name, right? It doesn't ring a bell so where did you get your connections from? Or are you just extremely lucky? Anyway, just don't mess up. The family that runs this restaurant and the entire hotel aren't as nice as you think."
He patted my shoulder and handed me some papers. "Just get back to work and don't be late again."
He then left and I sighed. Did I pay attention to anything he was saying? No. I glanced around the office and came across a picture on the wall and walked towards it. It was a picture of the founder of this restaurant. I stared at it for a while before taking my seat.
My phone rang and I looked at the screen to see the caller ID. I sighed while rolling my eyes and picked up the call. "You finally picked up! I tried to call you yesterday, but you wouldn't answer. How was your first day at work?"
"I shouldn't spend my time on my phone to show how competent I am, remember?"
"But you show up too late to work every day? Does that make you competent?"
