Amalia

I was fixed on him, my eyes staring blankly before I snapped back to reality and took a step back.

"I-I--"

"Wait, isn't that Kang Min-soo?" I glanced over Min-soo's shoulder and my eyes widened. Two women were standing there, gazing at Min-soo's back. One of them narrowed her eyes and locked her gaze with mine. "And isn't that Amalia Omora," my heart sank. No, they can't see us like this.

Min-soo tilted his head, scrutinizing my expression, "What?" he asked as he turned to look at the women. Acting on impulse, I cupped his cheeks, urging him to face me so that his fans wouldn't catch a glimpse of his face. Our faces were close again, but this time, I wasn't thinking about his attractiveness; I was only trying to shield his face.

I cleared my throat, "Let's go buy something else... Min Kang-soo," I said, and he raised his eyebrows, but I paid no attention to his reaction; I focused on his fans, who appeared perplexed.

"I don't think it's them," one of them said, and the other nodded. "Come on, let's leave before they figure out we were staring," the other woman said, and they both departed. I breathed a sigh of relief.

I heard Min-soo break into laughter and turned to look at him, annoyance evident on my face, "Min Kang-soo? Is that the best you can come up with?" he asked as he continued laughing, and I folded my arms, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Well, at least I tried to help you. I don't want another scandal to happen," I said, and his smile vanished.

"Amalia... " Min-soo uttered, and I realized my hands were still cupping his cheeks. I quickly withdrew my hands.

"You're being so reckless, Min-soo. If you get caught again, you'll be in deep trouble," I said, frustration edging into my tone.

His content expression changed to seriousness as he straightened up, "Are you still worried about what happened because I was caught with you? I didn't get into trouble because I was with you; I got in trouble because I was seen with you. There's a difference."

I shook my head and walked away, implying that I didn't believe him. His eyes widened as he followed me, "I'm serious. I'm allowed to be with you as long as no one sees us--"

"I know, but not when you keep getting caught. You're being irresponsible right now. And pull up your mask," I said, and he frowned but relented when he saw my expression.

This entire episode brought to mind what Yeon-Jae had told me, "You're a bad influence."

I scoffed at Yeon-Jae's assessment because it was the opposite. He was a bad influence on me. I pressed my hands to my cheeks, feeling the heat. My entire body felt hot. I'm thankful those women spoke up; otherwise, I don't know what I would have done. If it weren't for them, I would've...

Thinking of Yeon-Jae reminded me of something, so I halted and turned back to Min-soo, "That reminds me, when does the press conference start?" I inquired, and he raised his eyebrows.

"It started about half an hour ago. Why? Do you want to watch it?" he asked, and I shook my head. "Of course not. Why would I..." truthfully, I was being dishonest. Of course, I wanted to watch it. I'm sure there's going to be a stir in the media after it. Everyone's going to talk about it. I wonder if Yeon-Jae is going to change after this. I hope not...
