REBECCA PATRICIA'S POV

I've never had an identity of my own.
Who's Rebecca Patricia Armstrong?

She's the daughter of king Rufus Armstrong II, she's head Queen Luna's daughter or she's the first born royal and sister to the crown prince. That is who Rebecca Patricia Armstrong is.

Whenever I'm been described, it was always under the identity of someone else.

Every decision of my life have always been made by someone else too. What I say, where I go, what I wear, what I eat and who I associate with. All these decisions were made for me.

Either by the royal advisers, my designers, my parents or the royal laws sometimes even by unspoken rules.

I've only attended school chosen for me. I've only had friends chosen for me and I'm also going to the university chosen for me and to study English and literary studies which was also chosen for me.

Last year, my engagement to Duke Theodore was officiated. And of course even my life partner was chosen for me.

Being a royal is hard and being the first born royal is even worse. Many people are looking up to me and I'll have to let go of my dreams to satisfy the people.

But I can't keep this up. I'm breaking down and I can't even hold that pretentious smile on my face anymore.

"I want to attend Mahidol University" I said to my parents in their bedroom. I've been good. I've obeyed them until now but I need somewhat of a partial break.

"Choose!!" I said to them while shakingly standing my ground.

"The choice is yours. If you want me to attend Prince Kong-Song university, I want to do what I truly desire, I want to study art.

But if I'm to study English and literary studies, the career you chose, I want to go to the university of my choice."

My parents were shocked by my sudden demands. Although my mother was infuriated by the fact that I'm questioning their decision regarding my life, my father seemed amazed.

"The choice is not ours Rebecca, the choice is yours" he said.

"You've placed two options in front of us, now you choose. I'll let you go with whichever choice you make"

"That's a joke right?" My mother quickly cut in.

"You're not actually being serious about letting her choose anything, are you? Because that's madness.

She's our child!!! We are the ones to make decisions regarding her life. Not her.

So what do you mean by she should choose?" My mother stormed in wondering why my father wasn't taking the situation seriously.

"Just let her pick honey." He said

"She has always loved painting but you want her to study English and literary studies and you're still picking her university.

Just let her have a little bit of fun. She's good, it won't hurt to let her have her way once in a while" my father replied as he walked out of the room.

My mom glared and followed shortly after, leaving me there alone.
