FREEN SAROCHA'S POV
I was lying on my bed when I heard a knock on the door. I was too weak to even respond. I sluggishly got up from the bed but she was already coming in so I just sat down on the bed.
Serena ran to me and hugged me tightly. She was shocked by my kidnap I guess.
She seemed so scared and so I patted her back reassuring her that I'm fine.
"Did they hurt you? Are you hurt anywhere?" She asked checking every part of my body. She seemed so concerned, I've never seen her so scared before, definitely not for someone else.
"You're the only one asking me about my well-being and not blaming me upfront of being the cause of all my misfortune." I said trying to force a smile but failed
"I will blame you later. Right now, your safety is all that matters." She continued checking my body
"Serena I'm fine. I wasn't hurt" I insisted but then she held my hand.
"Your wrists, what happened? Why are they all red? Did they tie you up?" She questioned loudly
"They could have done worse." I replied nonchalantly.
My injuries were the least of my problems. My family's in jeopardy cause of me and I need to fix that.
"I messed up Serena. I messed up big time. My family is a mess right now. And it's all my fault." I sobbed
"Don't say that. It's not your fault. It's that princess' fault. She kept telling you it's love, even when she knew you'd get hurt." Serena comforted me. She has always hated Becky but pointing fingers won't change anything.
"It's not time to point fingers." I said
" I want to solve this problem. Did you see how gloomy they were downstairs? We might sell our house or Freda might not further her education after highschool and obviously my education ends here too. No one would nurture the cause of their predicament.
What do you think I should do Serena? I'm caught between a rock and a hard place." I asked, desperate for any shred of hope
"The only way to resolve this is to let The Princess go."
"Are you serious? You think I haven't done that already? I've ended everything relating to Becky. But that's not resolving anything." I complained
"Then go to the source you offended and beg. Beg them desperately like your survival and that of your family depends on it, because it does.
And if they have an ounce of compassion, they might reverse their decision. I mean they should.
You didn't ask for it. You were on your own and they brought The Princess into your life. They should also take some responsibility." Serena said and she's right.
Everything will go back to normal if the King And Queen reverse their decision. But how am I supposed to meet with them?
The palace is not a place where a nobody like me can just walk into and seek an audience with The King.
.
After contemplating all day on a plan of action, I set out late in the afternoon to the palace.
