"Please tell me you're lying mother" I pleaded desperately with eyes already filled with tears.

"She couldn't have done that to me right? She was always supportive, giving me Freen's address and covering up for Freen and I. So it was all just an act?" I asked in disbelief.

Is this really the true colours of Queen Sharon Armstrong? But she's nice. Even the public paints her as the righteous one in The Palace.

Why would she go through great lengths just to snatch The Throne from Richard. Richard wasn't even going to keep The Throne, he was planning to renounce it to me when I married Theodore. He's always saying the load was too heavy for him.

If she wanted it that badly, I think my mother would have given it to her. Richard is barely surviving as it is.

Which mother would want her child to go through the rigorous trainings, carrying on the duties and responsibilities of an entire country on their shoulders?

"There are so many things she has done but I didn't want you to see her evil side, that's why I warned the both of you to stay away from her.

But I guess I can't shield you from the truth anymore." My mother said getting up to sit on my bed.

"She's the one who poisoned your father's mind against me when I got pregnant with you. She demanded for that DNA test too. That's why I didn't like her from the start." I can't believe my ears.

"Impossible" I blunted out

"It's possible Rebecca, you just don't know her" Richard supported my mother's claims. He didn't seem that surprised either.

"Did you know she's also the reason why Freen Sarocha went to The Young Writers Training Program with you? It wasn't a coincidence, she planned it all. I heard her on the phone and told mom about it" Richard continued. I turned to my mother trying to confirm what Richard just said and her silence made my heart shatter.

"Why do you think your father and I knew nothing about Mahidol's participation until it was too late to pull either you or that girl out of the program?

She was using that girl, destroying the girl's family, ruining your reputation, mine and Richard's in the process just to take The Throne but hey, your father would never believe that she'd do anything evil. She's the calm, angelic one and I'm the devil himself." My mother said with sadness written all over her face.

Freen! She's also in trouble, I recalled

"Mother, Freen! Please we have to help her. Father wouldn't let her off for this . We shoul..."

"I got her out of the country, with her family." My mother cuts in before I could complete my sentence

"Both your fiance and your father would have totally destroyed her, if she had stayed." She continued

"That's why your father is so damn angry with me. I think he's making Nathaniel The Crown Prince because I got that girl out.

And before you say anything" she interrupted before I could thank her for it "I didn't do it for you. I just didn't want her suffering because of a fight between The Two Royal Queens.
