I Think I'm Losing My Mind Now

REBECCA PATRICIA'S POV

I saw my phone and laptop on my bedstand, after returning from the celebration of the opening of The New National Museum.

My desktop was sitting on my desk and even my landline has been restored. Without wasting time, I rushed to my phone and turned it on. My call history has been cleared and Freen's phone number has been deleted but it was saved under important files.

I quickly copied the number to my call log and called Freen whose line was busy.

I tried the number again and again desperate to hear her voice but I couldn't reach her. I hope she doesn't think that I abandoned her and didn't care about her and that's why I haven't called or texted for so long.

.

After calling for a while with the same response, I sat down on my bed thinking of what to do next. It's been a month since school resumed. She will definitely be in school by now. But will my parents let me go back there?

I don't know why they've returned my communication devices. "Should I just ask them what's going on?" I muttered to myself.

My mother suddenly called my name, startling me. I didn't realize that she had come into my room.

"Give the phone to me" she says. I could say "no" but it's no use. She'll get it one way or another so I just gave it to her.

"Just as I thought, you called her the first chance you got." My mother says while still looking at the phone. Putting it down she says after a deep breath

"Rebecca. What's going on? You were never like this. Are you seriously not going to give this up?" She sat down on a chair nearby and continued

"I ignored all the reports that your bodyguards brought in while you were in that university because I thought she's just one of those people.

Please tell me Rebecca, tell me she's just one of those people." She asks looking all serious and even a little desperate. She's never wanted anything from me but she seems to really want me to end my relationship with Freen.

"No mother, she's not." I replied which just made her angry.

"What do you mean she's not. You don't mean what I think you mean do you?" She asks getting warmed up to start scolding me. But I'm used to that already.

"I like her mother. I like this one and I want to be with her."

"You must be crazy.!!" She yells

"You must be losing your mind Rebecca. Is this you asking for attention again? Because you've got it. You can stop now.

I know you always do this to get my attention and you've gotten my attention so you can stop now." My mother continues. It seemed like she was almost begging me.

.

.

I've done many things in the past to get my parents attention but they won't give me the time of day. Now they're so infested in me when I'm not even trying. "What's the big deal? I like Freen and she likes me too. So just let us like each other."

My mother's opinion in this matter means little to nothing to me. She didn't care when I needed her so I don't care now either.

"What about Theodore?" She asks
