They appeared in the skies of Level 9.42. The sky is that of a cosmos flooded with stars and galaxies.
"Woah...!" Both awed as Anna became 3d again. MaKaya was more focused on the plane's systems than the level as a whole, as she was the only one who hadn't reacted yet. Anna and Tesha looked at the skies in awe.
"I'm going to try to find a decent place to land." MaKaya said. "So sit down and buckle up." She began pressing buttons and flicking switches again. She spotted the infinite main road. "I've spotted a landing pad, deploying landing gear." She pressed a few buttons and flicked a switch. "Prepare for landing in 3... 2... 1..." It landed smoothly. The plane stopped just before it struck a tree. She continued messing around with the controls as the sounds of the engines faded. "Now, just gotta..." She began to mutter very quietly as she finished with the controls. She finally backed away from the controls and took the helmet off with a sigh. She smiled as she tucked it under her arm. She pushed a button that made the glass top of the cockpit open. "Alright, let's go." Anna snatched the helmet and dropped it into the shadows and did the same with Tesha's helmet. MaKaya and Tesha grabbed their bags and hopped out of the plane and landed on the road with a harsh THUD! THUD! She finally looked around, admiring the beauty of the Level. "Woah...!"
"Yeah, I don't think I've ever made it here before." Tesha commented.
"This is incredible!" She jumped up and down excitedly.
"Is nobody going to point out that you have a pilot's license?" Anna questioned, the plane was gone by now.
MaKaya shrugged. "It's like I told the Gravelurker: I own a private airline and I have a private jet, a gym, personal trainers, my own clothesline and store, and many successful businesses are under my name."
"You talked to the Gravelurker???" Anna questioned again. "It didn't kill you?!?!"
MaKaya scowled. "Of course I did. He is a very nice creature, and good to talk to, just like his wife is." She shrugged. "As for why he didn't kill me, well I couldn't tell ya."Anna was speechless, jaw dropped.
Tesha just stood with her arms crossed, observing the conversation.
"I'm sorry, do you know how many Shadows that thing has killed?!" She exclaimed.
"They were trespassing." MaKaya casually shot back. "It's not his fault they decided to try him."
Anna facepalmed. "I can't tell if you're ignorant or just stupid."
MaKaya, now visibly hurt, ran the other way.
"Shit!" Tesha exclaimed, grabbing Anna's attention. MaKaya was long gone by the time Anna looked up.
Anna scowled, rolling her eyes. "Sensitive."
Tesha shot a glare at her and began running after her, though she knew she wouldn't catch up for a long time with how fast MaKaya is. Not to mention she hasn't had any Almond Water in a long time. She eventually had to stop running, as she was completely out of breath and for the first time in a long time, she felt exhausted. Sometimes I wish adrenaline wasn't as effective as it is. She sat down to give her feet a break. She took off her backpack and pulled out a can of Almond Water, grape flavor, and chugged the whole thing. Then taking another flavor out and texting Beth.
Beth
Hey Beth, can you track MaKaya's phone for me?
What happened this time?
IT WASN'T MY FAULT!!!
Chill, I just asked what happened.
Anna was being insensitive and made Lossing upset.
Lossing ran away.
I can't find her.
Gimme a minute.
No worries, I'm taking a break from running anyways.
Dang, she outran you?
No, she got a head start and I didn't immediately run after her.
Now my stamina is practically gone.
😶
...
Yeah
Fine. Just gimme a minute.
I got all day.
Tesha stood up, zipped up her backpack, and put it on before starting to slowly walk down the infinite road, her eyes pinned on her phone just waiting for a reply.
Alright, I found her.
Her phone's almost dead BTW.
K
So um... we got an issue...
Ugh, what is it now?
She's not in that Level anymore.
Tesha didn't reply. "WHAT?!" She shouted instead. "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!?!"
Tesh.
Tesha.
Look at your phone!
LOOK AT YOUR PHONE DAMNIT!!!!
She looked at the messages.
What
It looks like the last place she was is a grainfield.
Ok
Ok
It could be worse.
So she's in Level 10 right now.
I'm aware of that.
She's safe, don't worry. I can send you a LIVE video of her through
her phone's camera if you want. Please
Kay.
Once Tesha got the link, she could see that the phone was in MaKaya's pocket. The sounds of skipping on a dirt road were heard alongside humming. She let out a sigh of relief, she didn't know she had been holding her breath. She finally picked up the pace to a light jog.
It took absolutely forever, but she finally found the grainfield. "Wow, I can't believe she ran this far." She jumped into it, no-clipping to Level 10.
