I was sprung to reality as the school morning bell sounded off, waking me up from my half sleep. I grabbed two of my binders for my first few classes before someone came from behind me and wrapped me in a big hug.
"Good morning sleepy head."
I turned and smiled at the girl. My best friend Brittney Sparks. We had known each other since 2 grade and were joined by the hip all through elementary school. After we got in high-school, we each found what made us happy, but still always kept in close contact.
"Morning cheer girl."
Brittney had a liking for cheer and joined the squad gaining her popularity but she never let it go to her head. I was more in the middle of the school charts since I had my good grades, but got involved in the right things to not be considered a nerd.
High school can be a very judgmental place, but I had gotten by for almost all three years of me being at Skype high school. Today was my final day of grade 11 and being a junior.
"Headed to our final English class Kitkat?"
Kitkat had been my nickname since I was little and it was what both my family and Brittney called me. My full name is Katie, Katie Liddell.
"I can't believe he still gave us the homework even though we had one day of school left."
I gave a sigh as I closed my locker turning to Brittney. A frown took up my face and I closed my eyes still tired from my restless night after staying up talking to Brittney on the phone about a sleepover for the first night of summer.
"We weren't up that late Kat. I brought you a coffee knowing your not a morning person."
I smiled as I took the coffee and drank it down walking down the hallway. I was super happy about it being my last day of junior year, and then I only would have one year left. Brittney and I were headed over to our class when Max, Brittney's boyfriend, came over with a girl named Jessica I think, and scooped up Brittney and gave her a kiss. Max had always been in the popular group since sophomore year when he made a huge goal in one of the sports he played and his looks really did help. I had known Max since middle school and we were really close friends. I had helped him get a date with Brittney since I was close friends with both of them and just knew they would make the cutest and best couple. Brittney finally looked up at Max and spoke up.
"Ready for our last day before summer bae?"
Brittney smiled as Max looked down at her, but then Max barley had anytime to say anything else as he was pulled away by Jessica to go meet up with some other people as the first warning bell went. Brittney and I continued to walk to our class and made it just as the second bell went off. I just had to get through this day and then I was free for two whole moths before I had to come back for my senior year and then I would be free to go to collage and away from this school. My final day before I can relax.
*sorry that this it such a short chapter, but they do get longer and better! Hard to start off with out giving too much detail in the first chapter.
