Thinking

Two weeks had passed since all the events at that party, and I had mostly all forgotten about it. I only saw Luke a few times after, and I think he was just being a good friends when he complimented me, but I hadn't seen Noah since. I had hung out with Josh more over the passed weeks and he was sweet as ever, but we never really did anything. At most we would just hold hands and he would give me a goodbye kiss on the cheek. I was fine with this not wanting to move too fast, but Brittney and Miles loved to make a big deal out of it.

There was now four weeks left till summer was over and school would being. I had spent tons time with Carlos, and today we were going to the park. It was around 5 pm and I was slipping on my shoes as Ben came out of his office.

"Oh, hey Katie, Carlos! Where you headed off to?"

"The parl. We should be back soon so we're not late for dinner."

Ben nodded and smiled. He was laid off after calling him self my dad and was slowly getting better at talking to Carlos and I, but he knew it would take tons of time still, but he finally got the signal. We waved goodbye to Ben and then headed out the door. We walked down and saw about five people either just walking or walking their dog, but no kids. Our neighbourhood still didn't have many young kids, so the play ground only had one family on it, and they appeared to be leaving. Carlos ran over as I followed behind and he ran for the slide. I laughed as relaunched himself down and landed at the bottom. I made it over to Carlos and we decided to play hide and seek. I closed my eyes first and it took me about five minutes to find Jim hiding in one of the small play tunnels. He then closed his eyes and I went behind a big oak tree, hiding my small figure behind it.

I took a small peak around the tree to see he was still counting, when someone cleared their throat from behind me and I spun around to see the smirking face of none other than Noah.

"Hello again Katie."

His eyes did a once look over me before meeting my eyes again.

"Cute outfit. Looks good on you."

I then looked down at myself and took in what I was wearing. I was in short black ripped jeans, and a cropped mint green tank top. My hair was down framing my face as I looked back up to meet Noah's eyes again.

"Well, thank you Noah. Now what do you want?"

He moved closer and put one of his arms on the side of the tree. I already had my back to the tree so I couldn't move, but Noah didn't come too close, making me feel better.

"Just saw you hiding, and I wanted to see what you were, up to."

His face went more serious as he looked at me, and for once, I almost shrank under his gaze. I didn't say anything, as Noah slowly got closer, almost like he was waiting for me to stop him, but I couldn't move my body for some reason. He was getting closer and his gaze dropped to my lips and stayed there as he continued to get closer. He was only a few centimetres away, when I heard a little voice shout out.

"Aha!"

I moved so fast I not only surprised myself, but Noah as well, as I launched him away from me and turned to see Carlos standing by the tree with a small smiled of victory on his face.

"Found you Kat! I win!"

I laughed, a little worried about what he saw, but then he really took in Noah, who was about a meter away from me looking a t Carlos.

"Who are you? And why are you with my sister mister?"

I laughed a bit as Carlos moved closer to my side and took my hand giving a side glance to Noah, as he looked back with a smile on his face.

"Im Noah. I'm a friend of your lovely sister here."

Carlos then smiled and it lit up his face as he ran over pulling me and grabbed Noah's hand as well, before pulling us off to the playground with me laughing and surprising, Noah laughed too.  We made it to the playground swings and Carlos let go of our hands and then turned to us.

"Can one of you push me? Please!"

I laughed and was about to go over as Carlo sat on one swing, but Noah stopped me.

"I got it Katie. You just sit on the other swing."

I was taken off guard as Noah walked over and started to push Carlos on the swing. I then sat down on the one next to it and laughed as Carlos made a small happy yelp and Noah laughed and pushed his, sending his swing higher. I then grabbed my phone and took a quick picture capturing the moment. I smiled but then felt the chains of my swing move back, and I turned to see Noah smirking down at me with a certain look in his eyes.

"Noah? What are you doing?"

I turned to see Carlos smiling staring at us as Noah continued to back up with my swing in hand.

"Now Noah, this is no way to treat a lady, or a friend."

Noah just smirked even more and moved further back, not listening to my words.

"No no, Noah! Don't you dare let go!"

But it was too late as Noah pushed my, launching me higher and I almost fell as it swung back, but I couldn't help after letting out a scream, I laughed as I moved back. Noah caught my swing and then moved in front of me to stop in laughing at me. He helped me stop and I finally stopped laughing and opened my eyes to see Noah smiling, and staring back at me. My smiled slowly dropped as I realized our closeness again. He stared back at me, but then we tore apart as we heard Carlos laughing again.

"You should have seen your face Kat! That was awesome Noah!"

We both turned smiling again to look at Carlos laughing on his swing. Noah backed up again and walked over to Carlos and ruffled his hair. I then took my phone out again, and noticed it was already 6.

"Oh shoot! Carlos we have to go! Sorry Noah, but we have to get back now."

"No problem Katie. I can walk you guys back if you want too?"

Carlos nodded his head before grabbing Noahs hand and then started dragging Noah towards our house. I then jogged to catch up and walked beside them.

"Hey Noah? Why do you call my sister Katie? Her friends always call her a nickname, I call her Kat, and most of her friends all call her Kitkat because she loves that chocolate bar so much!"

"Carlos!"

I heard Carlos laugh followed by Noah and and felt my face blush and turn pink. I then turned and snook a glance at Noah to see he laughing with a huge smile on his face.

"Well, I don't know what your sister would like to be called by me?"

Noah finally turned to me and I quickly looked down and back at Carlos and he looked to be deep in though.

"Im not sure, but I think she needs a knew nickname."

I smiled as I looked at Carlos, and ruffled his hair.

"How about I call little miss Katie here, Kitty?"

My head snapped up to meet Noah, and I saw a genuine smile on his face. I felt my face heat up as I knew my cheeks were turning a bright pink. To be honest, the nickname sounded fine coming from Noah. No one had thought to call me by that before, and I felt like a fit to me.

"I think Kitty is perfect! Especially since you're so much taller than her!"

"Carlos! I'm not that short! Noahs just tall!"

I stared to complain as Carlos posted my height, and both he and Noah let out loud laughs. I frowned as me made it to my house and Carlos ran to the door as he shouted a goodbye to Noah. I turned to see Noah already looking at me.

"Guess I have a new nickname for you, Kitty."

He smiled even more and I felt my face getting even hotter.

"Well, see you around Kitty!"

He then brushed a piece of hair behind my ear, sending shocks through my body, as he then turned and walked off giving me a small wave. I then smiled as I walked up to the door, but just before I went in, the smiled dropped and I remembered one thing. I was dating Josh, and yet, why didn't he send sparks through me like Noah just did?
