My date?

About two days passed and Josh and I had our date today. He never really said what we were doing, but to dress in something summery and cute. I had Brittney over as she torn my closet apart trying to put together the perfect first date outfit for me. She had been here since 11 in the morning, and it was now 3:19 with her searching. She had made me try on too many outfits after we went to the salon and got our nails done, and then did skin care. I was lying on my bed texting Josh trying to get him to tell me where we were going, but he stopped texting when I asked for the tenth time. I was just scrolling through instagram, when I heard Brittney do a little gasp and then she ran over as I put me phone aside and sat up.

"I found it! The perfect outfit for the occasion!"

I looked at what she had and saw a cute mini floral designer dress that ended above my knees. I grabbed it and went into my bathroom to change. I put it on, lacy up the corset like back, and looking at myself in the mirror. The short sleeves rested off my shoulders and the skirt flowed but was still straight down. The flowers were a reddish colour with cute pale green leaves on parts of the white dress and my longer light brown hair fell in calm waves that had lighten over being at the beach. I came out and Brittney screamed and jumped up and down happy that we got the perfect outfit. I then grabbed a pair of white and beige sandals and put on dangly silver ears with a matching necklace. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. I looked cute. I then grabbed a small black purse and headed downstair knowing Josh was going to arrive in 15 minutes at 4.

Brittney and I talked while walking down that stairs when we heard a knock on the door. I ran over and quickly came down as Brittney shot me a happy grin, and opened the door. I saw Josh smiling in a nice pair of beige pants, and a white golf shirt. I opened the door more and let him inside when I noticed mom coming over with a smile on her face.

"Hello! You must be Josh! I'm Katie's mom, Natalie."

"It's so nice to meet you mrs. Natalie, I promise that I will have Katie home on time."

My mom smiled as I tried to hide my face in my hands and then reached out toking Josh's arm before my mom could start telling baby stories. I waved goodbye to Brittney and mom as I walked with Josh to his car. He drove a simple blue car, but since I don't know much about cars, I had no idea what kind it was. I got in as he started up the car and backed out of the driveway. I remained quiet until he spoke up and I turned to look at him.

"I hope you like movies! They have a whole bunch playing at the theatre and I thought that could be perfect for a first date?"

I smiled as I noticed he was acting nervous, speaking faster and I spoke up.

" I love movies. I wanted to go the theatre since I got back!"

I heard him let out a quiet sigh, and he brought his smile back on as he focused on the road. I turned to look back out my window and watched at the houses rolled by and then we pulled into the theatre parking lot, finding a place closer to the front doors. Josh shut off the car and we both got out and started walking over to the doors creating small talk. We got inside and looked at the movies that were playing and decided on watching pitch perfect and I was surprised the Josh didn't even start to say no and just nodded his head smiling at me. We got the tickets and then snack and went into the theatre room and sat down. We got comfortable and started talking more, when I hear someone call out Joshes name and we both turned our heads to see some of his friends.

"Hey Josh! Oh!!! You're on a date!!!"

I easily recognized the voice and waved at Emily as she ran over with a huge smile on her face. With her was the blonde girl Niki, Luke, a guy from the football team, and another girl with red hair. I got up as Emily pulled me into a hug.

"I'm so glad you like pitch perfect too! Niki, Amy, and I had to drag Luke and Marcus into the theatre!"

I laughed as I sat back down with Emily sitting beside me. The red headed girl who I guess was Amy smiled at me and I did the same as she sat down beside her. Luke, Niki and I suppose Marcus went over the other side of Josh, calming that they didn't want to hear Emily screaming out the words of the songs. I felt Josh take my hand as the lights dimmed and I turned to him.

"Sorry about them. I guess this isn't really a good first date."

I smiled at him and shrugged.

"Maybe not, but I still like it."

Josh smiled and dropped my hand, but I didn't mind. We then turned back to the movie as it started to play.

---------------------------------------------

I let out another laugh with Amy as Emily continued to sing the songs from the movie as we all exited the theatre. Emily was singing like there was no tomorrow and didn't care as other people turned to give her weird looks, as Amy and I just laughed at her. Josh was smiling along with Luke but Marcus was just looking at Niki and her right back at him. I guess they were a thing or something, since they both left, like, three times during that movie.

Emily then finished her singing and gave me a hug, with Amy doing the same, and the waving goodbye as everyone but Josh and I walked off towards their cars. I smiled at Josh as we started to walk to his car and got in.

"That was really fun. Thanks!"

"Being honest, not what I though our first date would be like, but Im glad you enjoyed it."

I smiled at Josh even more and we blackout of the parking lot and headed down the road back to my house. It was now 7 o'clock as we pulled up to my house. I got out and Josh walked with me to my door.

"Well, since I have you here, there's a party tomorrow at my friends house, and I was wondering if you wanted to go to that with me?"

I was a little surprised about going to a party, but I guess if I was with Josh I should be fine.

"I guess, sure."

Josh smiled and just before he left, he pressed a light kiss to my cheek, and then went to his car. I stood in shock and felt my cheeks turning bright red and I waved a quick goodbye and then headed inside.

Carlos was watching a movie, mom and Ben were at the dinner table working and I shot them a wave and then walked upstairs thinking about Josh. I really enjoyed our time and could hardly wait for tomorrow...
