The sun shone through my curtains like the morning before and I took in the feeling loving how I was able to really enjoy the summer sun here. I got up, took a shower and changed into jean shorts and an oversized pale blue shirt. I then headed downstairs after one spray of my perfume. I got downstairs to see Carlos already watching his morning cartoons on one of the local channels here with my mom and Ben in the kitchen making what looked like breakfast sandwiches. I smiled and waved at my mom, ignoring Ben who sent a small smile, and headed over to Carlos. He was sitting on the couch with a glass of juice beside him. I picked the glass up and took the seat beside him.
"Morning bud. How's the show going?"
Carlos turned and gave me a side hug not taking his eyes of the screen.
"Good. Sorry but this parts really important and I really want to see it happen."
I smiled as a laugh slipped through my lips and then heard a knock on the door. I got up and headed over as my mom slipped out from the kitchen to see who was here. I opened the door and saw Madison with a huge smiled on her face. She was dressed in black shorts and in a cropped pale yellow tank top. Her hair was down framing her face and the sun reflected her mostly blonde hair. I opened the door more and she gave me a quick side hug and then stepped more into the house.
"Morning Katie. Ready for your make over to begin? Today we start with your wardrobe!"
I was honestly nervous about what Madison would pick, but even though I had met her yesterday, I felt safe and comfortable because of her sweet aroma. My mom. walked closer and gave a good morning and asked if she ate. Madison replied with a yes and then saw what Carlos was watching.
"Carlos!!! This show is so good!!!"
She then ran over as Carlos let out an exited sound, having someone who liked his shows as well as I walked into the kitchen to eat so then Madison and I could leave to go the mall and maybe be able to head down to the beach before early evening. I looked at the time when I got into the kitchen to see it was 11:23, and I grabbed one of the breakfast sandwiches and then headed out with one in hand for Carlos as well. I sat beside Madison while both her and Carlos were interested in the show and handed the sandwich to Carlos who took it without looking away from the T.V.
"Well, Madison, since we have some much time, maybe we shouldn't go to the mall today."
With that Madison whipped her head towards me and gave me a sly smirk.
"You're not getting out of this that easy. Besides, this is the best time to go. Most people will be at the beach and the people who live here don't go to the mall on this day much. There will be barley anyone there."
I sighed knowing there was no way of really getting out of this seeing how exited Madison was about all of it and maybe I was also exited to see what would happen. I then finished my breakfast, rustled Carlos's hair, and gave my mom and Ben a wave before heading out and hoping on the bike I keep in the garage here as Madison got on hers.
We biked for about 8 minutes enjoying the breeze and the calm environment before we got to the mall and locked up our bikes. We walked in and were meeting with the blast of air conditioning. Madison was right about the mall. There weren't many people and there were lots of new shops in town. She pulled right down the hall and headed towards one of the stores. We came to the first one and she pulled me inside and started looking around while I did the same. I found two boyfriend style shirts and then headed back to Madison who had a pile of clothes and my mouth hung open for a second.
"Why so much?"
"I need to see what colour, style, and shirts and shorts look best on you and then it makes this process easier."
We then headed into a change room and I worked my way through the pile. Madison then helped me pick the best outfits that she found and I got one of the shirts I liked. We then checked off summer clothes and then she headed to a store that we found fall time clothes and then even a winter-ish clothes spot. By the end, I had lots of clothes for all most all of the seasons. We stopped for lunch and then Madison helped me with some make and skin products. By the time we were done, it was 3:48 and we were both ready to head home. We piled all the bags into the small attachment compartment on Madison's bike and then headed back to my house.
My mom gave me a hug and said she was just going to meet Carlos and Ben at the beach to tan and read while they played some sports. I grabbed a bowel of salad my mom made and Madison and I were upstairs and ready to try out some new looks.
After another three hours, we found a really natural little makeup look and really cute outfits for here and back at home. Madison showed me more ways to wear my hair instead of just in a ponytail or down and she made sure to add oversized tops and sweats into some looks to make sure I was comfortable in all. In the end I was really happy about what the end result was and I could really say I liked all the outfits I got. I never really focused on my style and I was really happy I found it. I then threw on some loose cloth shorts and a new oversized shirt while Madison got her stuff and got ready to head. Her mom had called her home for dinner since she would be going away to college in a month since it was in another state. I said goodbye and just as she left, mom, Carlos, and Ben walked in and all said hello. I then helped my mom with dinner while Carlos found a movie and we ate outside with the sun still up and a warm breeze in the air carrying the ocean smell with it. I really enjoyed my second day here, and if it was this eventful, I couldn't wait to see how the rest would go...
