Sparks

I stared at Noah in shock, as he just smirked while looking me up and down. I my have felt uncomfortable, but I didn't shutter under his gaze and just turned and walked away going to my friends who had started towards the dance floor again. I joined them as Amy handed me a drink, and we all started to dance to the loud music once again. Amy and Miles seemed closer, but that may have been from Emily, Brittney and I always "accidentally" pushing them slowly closer, but we could tell they didn't mind. Emily, Brittney and I almost lost it when they left us to go get a drink, and the moment they were gone, let out our laugher and smiles for our friends. I got back to swaying to the music, forgetting everything and just danced, when I felt someones eyes on. me more intensely this time, unlike the last when there was just glances that I couldn't feel. But this was different. 

I turned secretly trying to find if anyone was just straight up staring at me, but when I did a full 360, didn't notice anyone. I just left it and went back to dancing. Brittney had almost gone full drunk and we decided that she should head home. Max didn't hesitate, but Emily wanted to stay a little longer since she had gotten here later, and Miles and Amy were busy talking to each other still, so I volunteered to stay, I wasn't even drunk because I could handle alcohol so I didn't think it was a problem for me to stay longer. 

Emily and I didn't dance since our feet hurt at the moment, so we decided to just sit and talk, when the guy Nate, called us over to play cup pong. We went over to see that we would be going Nate, against some brunette girl, some guy, and none other than Luke. I caught his eyes and he sent me a small smile. I looked away and back to Emily and Nate so we could start. Luke and his team went first, and got two cups that Emily and Nate took a drink of before we went. Nate threw one ball and missed, and then handed me one, that I got right in the cup. Luke took the drink, and then the game continued with his team winning lots, and Nate, Emily, and I drinking lots and occasionally getting a point. I was really the only one getting anything in since I was the least drunk, but we were losing by a lot. Emily was just about to do her throw, when a hand caught hers before she could. 

"Come on Luke. Had to get a drunk pair of girls and guy to win?"

I turned more to the side to see Noah standing by Emily staring down Luke from across the table.

"If your so confident Noah, why don't you take their place."

Noah was about to nod, while Nate and Emily looking ready to tap out when I spoke.

"I'm fine! I still want to play."

Both Luke, the two girls on his team, and Noah turned to look at me. I almost shrunk under their gazes but held still. Then Noah smirked.

"Blue cutie? Love to have you on my team."

I looked at Noah in confusion but let it go and turned back to throw my pingpong ball. I made and did a small cheer for myself with Emily whooping in the back. Noah then threw his and got it in. Luke and one girl drank and we got the ping pong balls back and continued the game. In the next few minutes, the two girls on Lukes team left, leaving just Noah, Luke and me playing. Emily  was asleep on the sofa behind us as I took my final shot, with the ball landing perfectly in the cup. I shoot my arms in the air and did a small circle jumping up and down a little and then turned back to the game, only to see Luke and Noah looking at me.

"Well, now we know to not challenge me in beer pong!"

I smiled triumphantly before turning on my heels and walking to Emily. I kneeled down and shook her arm.

"Emily? Time to go."

She just let out a huff of air and I laughed. I then remembered what I did to help Brittney when she was drunk and stood up to find a bathroom. I walked up the stairs after I saw a girl leaning over the sink in the one on the main floor, and decided to venture up the stairs to find another one.

"In a huge house, and only one bathroom on the main floor?"

I spoke quietly to myself and started peaking into the rooms of the dark hallway trying to find the bathroom, when I heard footsteps behind me. I was about to black out of the room  and turn around, when I felt someones arm wrap around my waist, and I was pulled into the room, with my back the pushed against the wall, and my arms trapped above my head. The room was dark but as I looked up, I saw the outline of the smirking face that belonged to Noah, staring down at me.

"Noah? What are you doing? Are you drunk?"

I tried to talk, but stopped when he got closer to my face. 

"Your so pretty Katie."

My eyes widened as he spoke my name.

"Y-you know my name?"

Noah smirked as he got closer to me.

"Of course. I know everyone at the school, especially cute girls like you."

I gasped as he lowered his face down to my neck and placed a soft kiss right below my jawline. I felt sparks shoot through my body. He moved closer, with me still frozen in place not knowing what to do. And I was even more surprised when he spoke up.

"Is this okay?"

He moved back with his eyes looking glazed over, but I was more focused on what he just said. I moved my mouth trying to make words, but nothing came out. Noah just smirked more and moved closer with his hands coming down letting mine come to the side, as he rested his one hand on my waist. He got closer and I could smell the alcohol on his breath.

"Noah. You're drunk."

I spoke out and Noah just let out a laugh.

"Just because I smell like alcohol love, doesn't mean Im drunk."

He then moved closer again and I still couldn't move. He was just a few centimetres away from me, when the door was pushed open, and I had to step forward almost falling, but Noah brought me into his arms and glared at the people who had opened the door.

"Oh! Sorry!"

The people were a couple who were clearly drunk, but I used this as an escape, and pulled away from Noah. I then moved and headed back downstairs. I was just to the stairs when I felt a hand around my wrist and pull me back.

"Wait Katie. Where are you going in such a hurry?"

I turned back to see Noah, and in the faint light, I could tell he really was drunk. 

"I'm going to head home Noah. You should too. Your drunk."

He just laughed, laughed, again and pulled me into him again. I moved my head to look up at him to try and get him to let me go, but just as I tried to speak, his pressed his lips to mine. My eyes widened at his actions, but the moment his lips touched mine, I felt sparks fly through my body again like earlier when he kissed my neck, and I almost kissed him back, when I came to my senses and pushed him away.

"Noah! What the heck? I'm seeing Josh!"

I silently screamed at him, not wanting other people to hear, and then ran back down stairs towards where Emily was still passed out. I shook her awake wanting to get out of here, and pulled her up and to the front door. I pulled out my phone ready to call an Uber, when I heard some one shout my name. I turned to see Luke walking towards me.

"Hey Katie. Emily lives close to me. I can talk you both home on the way to my house."

I smiled and he helped me steady Emily as she walked to his car. We got her in the back and then I climbed in the passenger seat as Luke started his car. We drove down the road as I kept a close eye on Emily making sure she was okay, as Luke pulled into my driveway. 

"Thank you so much. Are you sure you're good getting Emily home?"

"I'll be fine. I usually have to take one drunk friend home every party. I'm good Katie."

I smiled and opened the car door getting out of his back jeep. I closed the door and started walking to my door when I heard the car window going down and I turned back around to see Luke sticking his head out the window.

"By the way Katie, you look really nice tonight."

I felt a blush coming to my cheeks as I smiled and waved a silent thank you back as he pulled out of the drive way and I quietly unlocked the door to my house, and slipped in with the blush still on my face. What was going on???
