Summer before Senior

What just happened

I widened my eyes as I felt Noah's lips on mine moving roughly but gently at the same time. His lips tasted like chocolate and his hands softly went down to the back of my neck and he pulled me closer. His lips were soft as they moved against mine and my eyes finally closed, but just before I could kiss him back, he pulled away.

"Shit! I'm sorry Katie. I shouldn't have done that. I'll get going."

Before I could say anything, he got up and grabbed his keys before heading over and opening to the door.

"Noah! Wait!"

But he didn't listen, and he just started out and got into his car.

"Sorry Katie. I'll see you around I guess."

And with that he drove out of the driveway and down the street leaving me speechless. Why did he kiss me and then just ditch? I didn't know what to do so I just stood in the doorway trying to think. Then I saw that familiar jeep coming down the street and it pulled into my driveway. The jeep came to a stop and I saw Luke open the door getting out. He smiled when his eyes met mine and I smiled back. 

"Hey Katie. I-I heard about what happened. With Josh. Did you break up with him from what I said?"

He looked guilty at me as he made his way to me on the porch. 

"No Luke. We decided that we would be better friends."

He smiled as he let out a sign of relief.

"So your back to being single?"

I laughed as he lifted one of his eyebrows in a funny way. 

"I guess. Im just glad things went over well and were good being friends."

Luke smiled as I moved to let him in but he shook his head.

"I need to get going. I'm meeting up with some friends, but thanks."

With that, he tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear, and gave me a smiled again before walking back to his jeep and driving out of the driveway. I gave him a wave and then headed back inside. I went to the living room and turned on the T.V to play one of my favourite shows, Vampire Diaries, before getting comfy on the couch, and sent a quick text to Emily and Brittney telling them what I was doing, and with in the first 10 minutes of the episode, they were both at the door with snacks in hand. We all loved the show, so it was no surprise. We all sat down and started to re-bing watch the show. 

After watching the most of a season, Carlos came back with mom, and bearing groceries, so we all got up and helped unload them. We then started to make tacos and in a hour when they were all finished, Ben walked in from work and we all ate. Well, Ben, Carlos and mom ate at the dinner table and then there was Brittney, Emily, and I all continuing to watch the Vampire Diaries in the living room. After finishing eating, Brittney and Emily left and I headed up to bed since it was already 11. 

I changed into a pair of pjs and threw my hair up in a messy bun when I got a phone call. I looked at my phone and didn't recognize the number so I picked up.

"Hello?" This is Katie."

"Hey Katie. It's Luke. I got your number from Emily and wanted to talk to you."

I let out a breath and walked over to my bed, sitting down.

"Sure. Whats up?"

"Well, it's nice to know you and Josh are on good terms and since you are, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with us tomorrow? It would be Niki, Josh, Amy, and I."

I was hesitant at first, but then I heard that Amy was going, and answered Luke.

"Ya that would be great. Where are we meeting?"

"Oh, don't worry, I'll swing by and pick you up. Just wear something casual."

We said goodbye and I switched off my phone and plugged it into the charger before getting into bed. I buried myself under the covers as I recalled what had happened today.

I broke up with Josh, Noah kissed me, Luke is giving me mixed messages, and I completely forgot that Katherine came back in the season of Vampire Diaries we were watching! I let myself close my eyes and sleep entered, leaving me in my calm state, and I fell into my dream land.
