A drizzle turned into a pour. Rain falling from the sky, thunder roaring and screaming. Fearing anyone that stood out helplessly out exposed. Dylan's hair is wet, and he's now walking, holding his elbows with his crossed arms. There are tears falling from his eyes but the rain had been masking it. He sniffed, and tried breathing but he broke again. Grunting, and quivering. "Melissa", his voice broke. He saw ahead of him was the gate that blocked Fae's home from the road, and uninvited guests.
Dylan stopped in his tracks and looked at the house. He sniffed in and wiped his face. He thought, and hesitantly he walked up to the gate. He hit on the gate with his chain, but then realized that Fae's parents had built in their new system a few weeks before. He clicked on the bell button, and spoke. "I know you in there. I need your help! I know more than you think." He held up his phone, cupping the top with his hands preventing water from blurring out the content. He pointed a picture of Fae and Jack together into the small camera. "Come out!" He held it there. "Or this goes to your dad", he stopped and put the phone away, "I wouldn't do this if I wasn't desperate. Please!" Flashlights can be seen from the far distance, white circles omitting in the darkness. Moving around intensely, giving the impression someone holding it is running.
A motorcycle can be heard down the path. Stopping briefly, before driving off again.* Fae walks up to the gate, wearing skinny jeans as usual, but with an oversized leather jacket over her."Dylan?" She looks confused as she places a hand on his shoulder. Dylan turns around and looks at Fae. "I-I- need your help please. Let me in. I can't go home right now!" Dylan screams so his voice can be heard over the volume of the rain. His eyes are red, but wouldn't be seen because of the darkness. "Ok, ok. Relax dude. Are you unsafe?" Fae puts her leather jacket over Dylan's shoulders before unlocking the gate. Dylan doesn't respond to this. He waits for the gate to open. He looks back. The flashlights now gone. Whoever had been watching remains unknown. Fae follows him to the front door, and unlocks that too. "My parents aren't home, so don't bother whispering. What's happened?" Fae asks, opening the door and waiting for Dylan to go in.
Dylan steps in and brushes his hair back with his hand. His lips quiver, as he struggles to form words. He opens his mouth, but closes it. His voice trembling. "Me-", he looses his voice. "Melissa", he tries up but he breaks down, "Melissa's gone and it's all my fault!" Dylan is crying, a hand on his chest, and one trying to keep himself up. He is hyperventilating and breathing heavily. "I can't breathe. I think I'm gonna die." He sits down on the floor, and holds his head with both his hands as he looks down to the ground underneath him. Fae reacts quickly and supports his head, preventing him from falling to the floor. "Melissa's gone? What do you mean? Dylan, let's get you into bed. Please." Fae takes the now soaking wet leather jacket and throws in on the floor. "I believe I've got some of Jack's clothing in my dresser, So you can get changed." She tries to help him upstairs. ''I can't breathe I can't. It happened so fast. It was all my fault. We were just walking and now she's gone. Because of me. Shit! We need to find her, what are we going to do? She didn't even want to do it.'' "Hey, Dylan. Look at me." She looks into his eyes with a fierce look. "Let's get you upstairs and you'll tell me everything. For now we need to make sure you are alright, okay?" Her hands are on his shoulders.
Dylan is led by Fae into a room. After being sent to the shower to heat up he stood in the middle. He watched the water, falling down and leaving through the drain. He couldn't move. Paralyzed in unbalanced emotions. He looked up at the shower head, and watched the water leave through it, like he had learned about it for the first time. The shower door fogged up from the heat, and Dylan started crying again. Covering his mouth, trying to silence his pain. He jumped out, and changed into the spare clothing. A hoodie, and some red checkered pajama pants. He saw Fae sitting on the bed waiting for him to sit. He had gone and sat next to her. "Thank you for your help", I feel kinda better now. He sniffs, nose blocking from all the crying. "I'm just so sad." He sighed out. "You're welcome." Fae says putting a hand on his knee. "My pants look good on you." She grins, as she removes her hand. "The hoodie you can keep. I don't think Jack will miss it. Now, tell me. Are you okay? What happened?" "Well, it's hard to explain. I guess I have to start somewhere. I lied to Melissa. She got upset, and stopped talking to me. I got here, well forced her to play a gig for me because I couldn't get caught ... uh story for another day. She did it, but something weird happened like she was in a trance? Then some people who I owed came, and she tried to help me but." Dylan looks down and wipes his hands, he then speaks this part quicker. "A car came and took her. But a man... he went flying and I ran. I didn't see anything else." He looks at Fae, folding his lips into a line. Fae looks scared at Dylan.^ "Dude.. weird shit is happening lately. Stuff's been happening to me too, hence why I don't sleep at home anymore. Jacks coming to pick me up later, I'll explain it to him and we'll send out some of the guys from the bar to look for her. We'll find her, I promise." Fae looks confused her understanding at Dylan. "Okay, I should get some sleep. Thank you for this. What's the deal with you and Jack anyway?" He forms a closed lip smile. "Bedtime, Dylan" she raises her eyebrows, before laughing lightly and getting up from the bed. "He's my soulmate." She says as she closes the door behind her.
He covers himself but as the light goes off, he finds himself staring up at the ceiling. He closes his eyes and slows down his breathe. The darkness takes over. Taking over the light, his thoughts, his body. He's left vulnerable, in what buried him away. Sinking, alone in guilt. What happened to Melissa? Is she even alive? He found himself opening his eyes soon after again.
