Two weeks before Dylan's kidnapping...

Dylan is downstairs, shoving tablespoons of cereal into his mouth angrily. He looks down at his phone and reads the last conversation he had with Melissa.

= 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞. 𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝. 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠? =

 = 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚: 𝐓𝐭𝐲𝐥. =

= 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫. 𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤. 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭. =

That was almost two hours ago. Dylan lays his phone on the table, and supports his head with the knuckles of his hand where his arm stood upright on the table. He had left for school, but although there had been noise, his day was quiet. Melissa wasn't there. He avoided his English teacher, and had gone to the study room instead. While eating a sandwich, he read a message from Negan, telling him about their gig tonight. Dylan then looked at Melissa's contact. No response. He tapped the edge of his phone but the bell pulled him out of his haze. Throughout the day in his classes, his phone buzzes, notifications sounding from his device. He turns it on silent under the table, seeing they were from Negan. The end of school hours came and he exited the building. He reached from his pocket and looks at his phone. He drops the phone, falling hitting the edge, then the lower edge before falling on the screen. What Dylan saw that made his gut rip into two, and blood fill up to his eyeballs were messages from Negan following after severest miss calls.

= 𝐍: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐟𝐟?! 𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮. =

=𝐍: 𝐃𝐲𝐥𝐚𝐧?? 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧. =

He picks up the phone, with his shaky hands and now everything is suspicious. The shadows behind the trees. The card passing and entering the school. Dylan's grip around the handles of his bag tightens. He starts walking down the street fast, supposedly missing his usual turns. He walks, not turning back.
