I had been dreaming I was trying to tie a bowtie on a penguin when a polar bear offered to help. I told him 'no thanks', so he ate me and the penguin. Then, once inside his belly, we played chess, and I lost. The dream changed, but each one I had was cold and wet.

I woke up to the smell of wet leopard. Harvey was laying on the floor beside the bed, and Olly was lying close to the door. Both were in their beast forms completely drenched. The sound of rain was still tapping against the roof, but it was much lighter than it had been. It was finally starting to clear up.

The drip drop sound of water was making me desperate for a sandbox. The cubs had changed position while I'd slept, and one of them was pressing right on my bladder. Though my belly was only slightly distended, I was a little over halfway through with my pregnancy now and the cubs would soon be getting to the size where bathroom breaks might become an hourly thing, if not more frequent. I looked around the room but found no chamber pot. When one had flying males, getting to the sandbox must be a simple matter, making chamber pots obsolete.

I got up and headed for the front door. Both Harvey and Olly raised their heads and, with heavy lidded eyes, wondered what I was doing.

"Sandbox." I told them. I wanted to let them sleep, but I would need one of them to take me down the tree.

Alva must have been just outside because after I spoke, I heard his voice from the other side of the door. "Do you need to go down? I'll take you."

I opened the door to see the handsome male shift and ready himself for flight. Olly growled a little at the bird. I patted his head.

"It's alright. Sleep. I'll be right back." I said to the two drowsy males. They had worked hard to help the injured during the fire, and they had probably helped the other females settle into the village before coming to sleep with me. If I didn't have to disturb them, I wouldn't. The peacock was more than willing to please.

Since Alva wanted to court me, I didn't feel bad about making him my shuttle for the next few days. I wanted to get used to flying too. I was still determined to one day have a flying mate. The benefits outweighed any fear I had.

Olly watched me walk out, but Harvey got up to follow. Despite his exhaustion, he wouldn't leave me in a strange male's claws. I was grateful for his concern and gave him a warm smile as I walked out with him and mounted the awaiting avian. It was dusk, and only a slight drizzle persisted. Alva took off right away, and I laid flat against his back, hoping the flight wouldn't scare me into prematurely relieving myself. Even if he was already wet, he would definitely notice the warmth. Harvey followed closely behind. Using his leopard reflexes, he agilely jumped from branch to branch.

Alva glided down so smoothly that I did not need to add more feathers to my collection. The sandpit was at the base of the tree, hidden by the large roots and bushes. Alva and Harvey waited as I did my business. Then the fluttering sound of another pair of wings let me know someone else was coming down to use the loo. I was just finishing up when someone pushed aside the bushes and walked through.

"Bailey? Is that you?"

Bai stood there looking skinny and exhausted. She had dark circles under her eyes, and her usual silky black locks were a nest of tangles. It would seem Muir and the peacocks are not so great at caring for females.

"Hello Qingqing. You made it all the way here too huh?" I tried to sound surprised as I retied my leopard pelt skirt.

"Mhm. I've been here for about two and half weeks. Muir brought me here for my safety. I'm still waiting for Parker and Curtis. They should have been here by now." She looked like she was about to cry. Then she took a deep breath to steady herself. "How about you? Have you been here long?"
