Chapter 48: I'm Home

"Good afternoon." I greeted as I came into the guild.

"Ren-san?!" Tord-san abruptly stood from his chair when he noticed me.

"Oh Ren, you finally returned from Calhea quest, huh."

Both Tord-san and Hugo-san was tending to the reception desk together so they were the first person that I saw when I entered the guild.

"Ren-san! I heard that a Redondo Dragon appeared in Calhea?? They said there was no casualties and the dragon was subjugated quite peacefully but are you really alright? Are you hurt anywhere??" Tord-san walked over the counter and anxiously checked my body for any injury.

"Yes, thanks to everyone's teamwork I only had a few scratches here and there. Aside from that, I'm perfectly fine."

I could see how worried he was from the way his ear slumped down dejectedly.

His cat ears looked so cute!

I was about to reach my hand to pet his ear but then I remembered the 'incident' that happened because of my carelessness so I pulled my hand back to me.

"Oi, how long are you going to keep touching Ren so nonchalantly like that?" Sig-san slapped Tord-san hands away from me and pulled my body into his warm embrace.

"O-ouch! What's your problem, man? Oh, you're Silver Wolf!" Tord-san's ear and tail bristled when he noticed Sig-san's death glare.

Sig-san looked intimidating as always.

"What do you mean 'what'? Ren is my fiance. Of course it is my duty to protect him from suspicious person like you."

Because Sig-san was hugging me from behind, I couldn't see his expression but judging from how cold his voice sounded like, I was sure he must be glaring at Tord-san intensely.

"Wha-! So that rumor is true?! Ren-san, are those three your fiance??"

Tord-san's eyes drew considerably wider when he heard Sig-san's proclamation.

His gaze kept on changing forth between me and Sig-san, seemed like the news of me having three fiance was a huge blow for him.

"Umm..Yeah.. This is Chris-san, Fer-san and Sig-san. They're all my fiance. We're going to a jeweller to custom order engagement ear cuff after we've finished greeting everyone in the guild. That's right, is Malik-san here?" I introduced them to everyone bashfully, my cheeks felt warm because I was embarrassed.

"Ah.... No way.. This can't be true.." Tord-san fell to his knees while mumbling lowly.

"I already told you, didn't I? Just give it up, Tord. Ren, congratulations for your engagement. If you're looking for master, he's in his office. Follow me, I will take you to him." Hugo-san tilted his head, beckoning us to follow him to Malik-san's office.

"Thank you, Hugo-san. Let's go then." I slipped free from Sig-san's embrace and followed Hugo-san to the second floor.

"Yeah." Fer-san, Chris-san and Sig-san replied in unison.

I was really excited to see Malik-san so my steps felt light but when I turned around, in contrary I saw that the three of them looked very stiff and tense instead.

We finally reached Malik-san's office, I've been here a couple of times before but because of the subjugation quest, it felt like it had been ages since I was last here.

I knocked on the door lightly and waited for Malik-san's response.

"Yeah, come in."

Receiving Malik-san's permission, I opened the door with a creak.
