『Master! Of course you're going to make a contract with me, right?!』

『No, no! It's me, right?!』

The magical beasts finally emerged from the center of the magic circle with such a powerful presence, it was as if you could hear a thundering thumping sound coming from their way. However, since I hadn't made any contract with them, the beasts were unable to take a step further from the magic circle. The beast stopped their track right at the boundary of the magic circle.

"So... We need to understand each other better before we can make a contract, right?"

First thing first, I still didn't know anything about the beast I had just summoned.

『I can understand the general thing about Master from Master's magic power. Master can't do any offensive magic even though your magic power is outrageously powerful, right? That's why you called for me, right?』

The beast answered me, he(?) had a peculiar way of speaking.

"Yeah, that's right. Because of that, I'm wondering if you guys can lend me your power..."

The beast that answered me was a bird type beast with bright red feathers and a yellow beak. If I looked at him closely, his wings seemed to be on fire? He was a really big bird though. If he spread both of his wings, he could've wrapped me whole. His tail feather was primarily red, just like the rest of his body but there were other colors mixed in like green, blue and yellow. All the colors in his body were making him a very vibrantly coloured beast.

The said beast was hovering over the magic circle, flapping his wings elegantly.

Huh? I've heard that a big bird couldn't hover because of their size but maybe it was possible for him since he was a magical beast?

『Forget about that twat over there and just make a contract with me.』

Moving on, the next beast that answered my call was a feline type beast. This must be the beast that had been bickering with the bird type beast. This beast resembled the so-called white tiger from Earth. He had a pure white body with stripes, just like a tiger. However, unlike common tigers, this beast had a pair of long canine teeth. The canine teeth must be as long as my arm. Rather than a tiger, I guess this beast was more like a saber-tooth tiger. This beast was also very big, he appeared to be twice the size of a normal tiger. Maybe he was about 2.5-3 meters big?

Nevertheless, these two magical beasts were so pretty! I really wanted to pet them!

"Ren-chan, before you sign a contract, you need to make sure you properly understand what they can do, alright?~

"Ah, yes. Just like what you've said earlier, I don't have any offensive skills. That's why I'd like you guys to tell me what you can do before we sign a contract."

That was dangerous.... I was so enthralled with the notion of petting them that I was almost ready to sign a contract without hearing anything from them first. Maybe Chris-san realized this because he was quick to remind me to ask the beast before getting into the contract. I was caught off guard with Chris-san's gentle reminder. Since I had asked them to show their capability, if they didn't want to honestly tell me, it would be impossible for me to sign a contract with them.

『Okay, so! You know, I, I can breathe fire! Also, you see these feathers? I can throw them like a knife! Do you want me to see me fight with that guy? 』
