"Everyone, calm down. Just focus on eating Ren's food. Look, Ivan. Ren's cooking is so delicious, right? Unlike your mom's cooking..."

Malik-san calmed the whole Gon's family, who had gotten so excited from shock. Malik-san pushed a plate of chicken teriyaki to Ivan-kun, who had been devouring the yakisoba earlier. By the way, chicken teriyaki was Malik-san's favorite food.

"Oi! Onii-san! That's not a nice thing to say, don't you think?!"

"But it's true though? Just look at how happy the kids are eating. You can tell just by watching them, don't you?"

Malik-san's offhand remark about Vicky-san's cooking skill made Vicky-san to frown. However, Malik-san then pointed at Vicky-san's children. Indeed, they were practically gobbling up my food, so much so that I could hear the voice of their chewing.

I hadn't actually served Ivan-kun and Sabine-chan their own portion yet. Sabine-chan had taken some of Amy-san's portion and Ivan-kun was eating the yakisoba that I had served on a large plate. To begin with, they should have had their own dinner already, since Malik-san and I came while they were eating dinner. However, judging from the speed of their eating, it seemed the food I had taken out wouldn't be enough for them....

"Umm... I think I need to take out more food for Ivan-kun and Sabine-chan. Amy-san, just consider tonight's meal as my gift for our first meeting..."

I grabbed my magic bag that was hanging on the back of my chair and placed it on the empty space on the table. Given their appetite, it should be okay for me to take out more food. Even if they couldn't finish it, I could still store it back into my magic bag. The food wouldn't get spoiled either way.

Earlier, Amy-san mentioned about paying me the cost of the ingredients, but I didn't have any intention to charge for tonight's dinner. I wanted to think of this as a gift for our first meeting.

"Oh my, thank you then. I'll gratefully accept your offer tonight. But still, Ren-kun, you're really great at cooking. How can you make all these delicious foods?"

"Umm..."

Amy-san, who understood my intention, nodded with a smile. It made me happy to hear that she enjoyed my food, but at the same time, it made me wonder just how bad they were at cooking. Since I hadn't actually seen their cooking, I didn't know how to respond so I could only give her an awkward smile.

"You see, Ren, these two's cooking only have two results. Burn to crisp or undercooked.... They also like to add a lot of unnecessary things. Vicky, Amy, can't you two just follow the recipe? Especially if you're planning on serving that food to other people."

Malik-san explained their cooking skill and just by listening to Malik-san's explanation, I could tell they were.. Far from good. Maybe the end wouldn't turn out that bad if they followed the recipe. I guess they were the type that couldn't resist adding their own flair while cooking? Before making their own adjustment, they should've mastered the basics first, or else their food would end up in a disaster.

"Fufu.... Dearest brother-in-law, are you that eager to try my cooking?~"

Amy-san smiled sweetly, but her eyes... Her eyes weren't smiling at all!

A chill ran down my spine. Amy-san might seem to be the gentle type, but when she got angry.. She looked terrifying.

"Thank you for your gracious offer, but no. I've been enjoying Ren's delicious meals three times a day. Unfortunately, he's going to leave the nest after he gets married."

Malik-san sighed deeply as he tousled my head. He looked genuinely disappointed. Malik-san and Chris-san really liked to pat my head. I hoped it wasn't because my height made it easy for them to pat my head.
