I named the bird type beast Altair. As I spoke his name out loud while chanting the incantation, glimmering grains of light began to rain down from my hand onto him. The light disappeared as fast as it appeared and although there were no visible changes, I could feel his power through the ring on my pinky finger.

I lifted my hand away from his beak and looked at the ring. A flaming, flickering red gem was embedded into the once empty space in the ring. This must be the proof that the contract was completed?

『Master! Thank you for the cool name! I'm looking forward to working with you from now on! 』

"Please treat me well too, Altair. Huh?!"

I guess he liked the name I gave him. After we established the contract, he was able to step out of the magic circle. He flapped his wings excitedly, making a menacing thud sound with each flap. As soon as he came close to me, he changed his size into that of a parrot and perched himself on my right shoulder.

Huh?! He can change his size at will?!

"You can change your size?"

『Yeah! Changing my own size is as easy as pie for me! Besides, if I stay in my true size, I will have to stay in that thing all the time, right? But if I look like this, I can stay outside, right? 』

Altair replied, his voice was brimming with confidence.

"Well... If you were that big then of course..."

True. If he stayed at that big size, he would have to stay in the ring except during combat but if he were only the size of a parrot, there would be no problem if he stayed outside. It was so cute how he persistently rubbed his small head against my cheek.

I took it and I put it on my left pinky finger. After making sure all the necessary stuff was ready, I once again reached my left hand toward the magic circle and gently touched the tiger type beast's head.

U-Uwah... He's... So fluffy! I will have to pet him later!!

I had decided to name the tiger type beast Spica. As I chanted the incantation, the same fluttering light was falling over him too. I looked at the ring on my left pinky finger. There was a light blue gemstone embedded into it, unlike Altair's flaming red ones.

Ah. Now that I took a closer look at them, Altair's eyes had the same flaming red hue on it too, just like his red gemstone while Spica had pale, light blue eyes. Like the color you'd get after dripping a few drops of blue paint over white paint.

『Master!』

"Fufu~ Nice to know you, Spica. Oh. Spica, you can turn small too?"

『Because I want to stay outside too!』
