Chapter 153: Once Again

"It felt nice to be congratulated by a lot of people."

I was holding hands with Sig-san as we walked back home.

There were some drunk people laying wasted on the guild's floor because they had too much to drink at tonight's celebration party. Malik-san had to stay behind with the rest of the guild staff to clean up after the party. So I had to go home with Chris-san, Sig-san and Fer-san.

"Indeed. Everyone really loves Ren-kun."

"I'm not sure about the 'love' part but... I'm grateful for being on the receiving end of everyone's goodwill."

Fer-san, who was walking beside me,on the opposite side of Sig-san, stroked my head gently as he said so. Everyone really had taken good care of me. Maybe because I was smaller than average people here but the people in this world were really kind to me. Also, I guess the fact that Malik-san was my legal guardian played a big factor too.

It seemed Malik-san was not only famous in this town, but his reputation had reached the whole country of Aspel even. Since I was adopted by someone like him, of course people would be less likely to treat me badly.

"Well, considering how sudden the party was, there were quite a lot more people than I had expected."

Sig-san was wagging his tail while smiling happily.

"Yes. But, even though there were so many people in that party, there was only one person that mocked me for having that nickname. I thought for sure everyone would be making fun of me..."

Indeed, just like what Sig-san said, more and more people were coming even after the party had started. In the end, the guild was jam packed with people.

However, for some reason, the only person that mocked my nickname was the person that approached me when I was about to move on to greeting other people after I finished eating. Other than that person, everyone else complimented my nickname instead.

I wonder why...? I mean, being praised for having that nickname doesn't necessarily make me feel happy either........ I mean, when I heard people saying "Flower suits you because you're so pretty" or "That nickname really suits you well".... I'm not really sure what to feel about that....

"Well, it's fine, isn't it? A lot of people were staring at us with envy, you know~"

"Whoa! Don't suddenly hug me out of nowhere like that!....... Chris-san, you're in an awfully good mood, aren't you?"

Chris-san suddenly hugged me from behind, startling me. He then rested his chin on my right shoulder and put his arm around my waist, hugging me tightly. His voice sounded cheerful, he seemed to be in a very good mood.

"Mmhmm~ Maybe I drank too much? It's been a while since I last drank that much. I mean, everyone was like 'since Ren can't drink then you guys have to take his place~' so I kept getting drink after drink."

"Yeah.... Sig and Chris did drink a lot."

"Fer, you were really good at dodging it, huh. You cleverly passed the drink onto us."

Now that they mentioned it, Sig-san and Chris-san kept getting challenged into a drinking match by the adventurers. They absolutely dominated those drinking matches though...

In between those adventurers, there were some people who challenged Fer-san into a drinking match. However, Fer-san brushed them all off. He said something like... "If it's a drinking match you want then feel free to go against those two, alright? I have an important duty at hand, which is protecting Ren-kun from danger.".... He handed all the drinking parts to Sig-san and Chris-san. Chris-san and Sig-san didn't seem to mind though. They looked like they had so much fun drinking.
