I find myself back in the futuristic cave/lair/batcave. Whatever its called, I prefer batcave though. I look around to see the same chiselled out walls and low hanging torches, everything the same as the last time I had been here. However this is the first time I haven't been greeted by an eagerly awaited Theo. Maybe he hasn't gone to sleep yet I think to myself. I've gone to sleep later then he has every single time since I've found out about all of this.

I have no idea what I am meant to do now. Its weird, I have all this freedom. Literally all the freedom in the world yet I have no Idea what to do with it. Also, if I leave will Theo wake up where I am? or do I have to stay here. I don't know how anything in this place works. Its probably a curse that I am an inpatient person and I start towards the main tunnel in the centre of the room. This is the way Theo normally takes me as I am looking for the main lobby so I can choose where I can go. I continue down into the long tunnel for the first time without Theo. The darkness makes me feel more enclosed then I already am. For a futuristic place, they've neglected this tunnel. It really does feel like I'm a miner trapped underground or something. there's no lights and as I feel around for the wall to touch as I walk along the uneven floor I can feel bits of dirt crumbling in my palm. Normally I am protected by the powers of Theo's large palm in mine. I could zone out of what was going on here and focus solely on his hand in mine. I would feel more comfortable if I knew where the hell I was going. I don't want to ever become one of them girls who can't live without her boyfriend because that Isn't who I am. I'm strong enough to be on my own however when you meet someone who just radiates masculinity and strength its easy to feel totally empowered in their presence and weak when you are lost in a dark damp tunnel. Finally I feel a door and hold my hand out to be identified. I watch in amazement as the lasers scanned me. It feels like I'm in some sort of spy movie or something, I still can not get my head around the fact all  of this exists.

"Identity approved, welcome back Shailene" The British voice announced, And with that the door slid open to reveal the bright lights of the main lobby. I once again was faced with thousands of doors and various paths that I can take. I randomly choose to turn left round the corner and go explore somewhere random seeing as Theo is nowhere to be found. I can entertain myself right? It shouldn't be a problem that Theo isn't here. I've been my whole life without him so why now do I feel so lost wondering these corridors. I mean other then the fact that I am technically lost, its healthy to have some time apart. Imagine if we had to spend everyday together. Doesn't seem too healthy to me.

My thoughts were interrupted as I smacked straight into something or someone. I was knocked off balance and landed on my back with a thud.

"Oh shit, I'm sorry I didn't see you" The women rushed. She had a rich Australian accent and offered her hand to help me up.

"Don't worry about it, it was my fault. I was completely in my own head" I smile back, She returns my smile with a wide toothy grin. She was quite tall with short black hair which was shaved at the sides. Her arm sported a sleeve with colourful designs all over her body. She looked pretty rad and it wasn't like I was going to push away the first person I've seen other than Theo.

"My names Shailene, Its nice to meet you, I thought other humans was some big myth" I laugh

"I'm Ruby. I can't believe you haven't seen anyone yet. That's weird there's always people around. Where do you hang?"

"No, no one at all. I've been around here loads of times too" She cocks her eyebrow at me in disbelief.

"Its probably because Theo's always been protective over you." She states

"How do you know Theo?"

"Everyone knows Theo" She scoffs "He's a cool guy, quite the legend around here"

"and What do you mean by always been protective?" I question "I haven't even known him long." I ask confused. The way she said it was insinuating she knows a lot about us. And seeing as I've never even seen another person around here seems a bit strange.

"Oh really, feels a lot longer" She awkwardly laughs and avoids my eye contact like she looks guilty or something. But guilty of what?

"Does everyone talk about us or something?" I inquire further. I can sense she's feeling awkward as her smile fades into a strained one as her eyes flicker around like she's silently asking for help. "Look what's going on, you're covering something up" I demand interrupting her visible struggle. She sighs looking up at me.

"You know you lost your memory right?" She asks sheepishly.

"Yes, Theo told me that might of happened"

"Well before you lost your memory we were good friends, but we don't normally tell people that because its just confusing for them to try and accept what they've forgotten, but its just a lot harder then I ever thought it would be  to pretend I don't know someone I've spent so much time with" Ruby smiles at me with hope in her eyes like she's begging me to understand. But of course I understand, its not that much of a big deal yet she still looks like she's panicking. It makes a lot of sense for people not wanting to force memories on those who lost them, and its not like I wanted to forget Ruby so I'm glad I get the chance to get to know her all over again.

"Oh wow, this must be strange for you then. I feel like I should apologise for forgetting you" I chuckle. She laughs too seemingly relaxing a little and runs her hand through her dark hair.

"I've missed you" She says seriously. "Did Theo tell you anything else about what happened?"

"No, why would he know what happened, did we know each other too?"

"No, no" She responds quickly with the look of panic instantly returning to her eyes. "Erm, I meant just the technical side like why it happens." Ruby fiddles with her ear piercing as she looks just below my eyes, trying to unnoticeably avoid eye contact. This girl was not good at keeping things in. I narrow my eyes slightly but decided to ignore it. If we were good friends then I want to start getting to know her again, I don't want to waste my time making her feel uncomfortable so I nod in reply to let her know that I understand what she meant.

"So you wanna go somewhere?" She asks

"Sure, Ill follow you, I have not got a clue where I am right now" I laugh.
