I roll out of bed with a groan replaying the events of last night. I cant get the image of Ruby falling apart out of my mind, the way she couldnt contain her emotions any longer as they seeped from her body breaks my heart. Not to mention how much I've probably pissed off Theo. Not that I should even care right now, seeing as he followed me around yesterday. Hes reached a new level of creepy.

So today was the day of my double date with Emma and Andrew. I would be lying if I said I wasnt nervous. I've never ideally been a fan of blind dates or being set up by a mutual friend. Something about it seems forced and I prefer to meet people in organic ways, opposed to tempting fate. However seeing as Douglas is extremely good looking, who am I to be picky?

The evening rolled by quickly enough. Me and Emma spent our afternoon watching crappy dvds while we exfoliated and picked out some outfits. Andrew had briefed us that we weren't going to be dressing up overly smart, which I was thankful for. I can't stand wearing heels for too long, I would much rather walk bare foot. I decided to wear an all black outfit; jeans, t shirt, leather jacket, boots. I let my hair fall naturally across my face and only put on the bare essentials of makeup. Eyeliner, mascara, concealer. Emma opted for a more colourful look, she wore a pair of blue skinny jeans and nude heels with a tucked in white t shirt and coat.

We studied ourselves in the mirror for a few moments before we heard a gentle knock on the door.

"Answer the door." Emma says still fiddling with her hair.

"What? Why me!" I quietly shout.

"Because I'm not ready yet!" Emma whines in response causing me fold my arms.

"Your moving tiny strands of hair, that is it. You look the same as when that strand of hair was on the other side of your head you know!"

"We can actually hear you." A voice calls out. We whip our heads towards the door.

"Fuck" Emma says dropping her head in her hands. I shake my head at her and walk over to the door.

"Hey Woodley" Im greeted with as I swing the door open.

"What's up garfy, hey Douglas" I greet with a warm smile. Both of the boys were wearing black jeans and t shirts. Andrews was white with a leather jacket and Douglas' was black with a blue bomber jacket.

"Right i'm ready, let's go!" Emma calls from behind me and scoots me out the door towards Douglas.

"You look nice." Douglas leans down to say. "Your outfit colouring connotes happiness." He smirks.

"Har Har, I'm just wearing this because blacks slimming, I'm all rolls under this so the jokes on you really."

"I highly doubt that."

We walk out of our apartment building and into a black cab waiting outside. Emma was barely paying me any attention as she was way too wrapped up in Andrew, throwing her head back and clapping to every other thing he said. But when she did look over she would just raise her eyebrow knownly in my direction like she could tell I liked him.

"So how long have you guys been in London then?" Douglas asks, technically both me and Emma but Emma was preoccupied with giggling at Andrew.

"Just under a year." I say.

"Planning on staying here for a while then?"

"We werent to begin with but Emma's got a job now and she's got a... This" I say gesturing at her and Andrew laughing hysterically at another one of their many inside jokes. "I don't really know what I want to do yet, so I'm happy staying here for a while I think." I finish with a smile.

The taxi pulls up outside of a small building with a red flashing sign which read "Comedy Bar" There was a small que along the side of it which is always a good sign.

"I thought we were going for dinner?" Emma asks as we step out of the taxi.

"We are, they serve food here as well but there's an act on so we don't have to force conversation." Andrew smirks.

"Shut up Andrew, you love to speak" I laugh.

"Hey, that's not true!"

We made our way to the back of the line and joined the que. It didn't take long to reach the front and it luckily wasn't too cold so the wait was made bearable. As we walked through the doors we were faced with a small but wide room with a stage at the far end, surrounded by various sized tables. The room was filled with light chatter and was pretty full at this point. We took a seat at a table near the front of the stage, the boys sitting on one end and me and Emma facing them. Apparently on comedy nights they only serve curry meaning there was no need to waste time ordering as there's only one option. Douglas ordered the table a bottle of wine which we drunk without hesitation. We were pretty buzzed by the time the first act came on, probably laughing way to hard at mildly funny lines.

I felt myself getting lost in the way Douglas laughed, he had a sharp jawline which was made even more prominent every time he let at a throaty chuckle. He threw his head back letting his long hair flop back from his forehead while slapping at his stomach 3 times. It was routinely 3 times. He was defiantly good looking. A different kind of good looking then Theo, more of a knight in shining armor sort of charm to him. I couldn't work out if I liked it or not.

"Do I have something in my teeth." He teased as he caught hold of my lingering stare.

"As a matter of fact you do."

"You better get it for me then." He chuckled leaning across the table bearing his teeth. I squatted at him as he wiggled his head around. "Didn't think so." He finished leaning back on his chair.

"Can you stop flirting theres other people here, thanks." Emma says. Me and Douglas both look at eachother in amusement before whipping our heads around to look at Emma with a raised eyebrow.

"Erm." Douglas starts.

"What have you been doing this whole night then?" I finish. Emma flushes red slightly before looking at Andrew for help.

"She's been cute that's what." Andrew says flicking the tip of her nose. I roll my eyes and gesture putting a finger down my throat earning a round of laughs from the table.

"Hilarious Shai, you should be up there, clearly the real comedian."

"Thanks Emma, that means alot." I say with a sarcastic smile.

"I think we need more drinks" Andrew says raising his hands in the air with a little fist pump.

"Amen." Douglas nods. "The night is young and we are too sober."

And that is the last thing I remember of the night.
