She kept running, farther, faster than she thought she could. Ali tried to go down the same path she had come from at first, but once she realized that would be heading for the dungeon, she took a turn she was pretty sure she hadn't gone down.
Boy, these hallways were long. And white.
Ali could feel her leg muscles starting to burn, and she knew she couldn't keep up her pace for long. She wasn't exactly an amazing athlete. Not bad, but not good.
Slam!
Ali hit a wall.
Actually, not a wall, but the guard was sure built like one.
Ali did a spin-kick-thing (although she fell on the ground afterword), kicking him right on the mouth, and he let out a scream as high pitched as a little girl.
One down. Who knows how many more to go.
She took a left turn, hoping she wasn't going in circles, and spotted a guard at the end of another corridor. Great.
Ali sprinted, knowing that she had zilch energy left but using it up anyways, and slammed her fist into the guard's face.
Ouch.
It connected with a thump, and he went staggering back. Ali had to suppress a smile. She was better at this fighting thing than she had thought.
She stopped, glancing back to make sure no one was behind her. Nothing. Forward. Nothing-
Nope, another guard, right in front of a door.
And exit.
She pushed herself, panting like she had gone at a 100 metre race pace for a kilometre.
Not good.
Still, Ali ran, because she kind of needed to get out of there. She met the guard, and he raised his eyebrows as she charged him.
Inside her head, Ali chuckled, imagining how this might have looked to an outsider. A fairly small girl running at a fully grown, not exactly small man.
Ali swung a punch at his face, but the guard merely deflected it with his arm, sending Ali spiralling. He aimed a kick at her stomach, and knocked the wind out of Ali as she was sent, sprawling to the floor.
She scrambled back up and tackled him to the ground. Ali checked to make sure he was unconscious. Probably should have checked the others t-A/N: An actual action scene in which Ali actually fights! Fun! Any thoughts on what happened at the end? Did Ali die? Notice that the guard wasn't awake? Get knocked on the head with a plastic frying pan?
