"We have to figure out how to get Maria out of that place," said Ali, who was pacing the forest floor. "What was the dungeon like?"
"The dungeon? It was dark, and gloomy, there were five-ish guards that we could see, a couple barred windows. That was how we could see in," Cocoa replied.
"Great." Ali plopped herself down right beside an oak tree. "Sandy? Ed? You see anything that could get us in?"
"Yeah," Ed said, "A big, fat hole in Maria's cell's wall."
That was sarcastic, Ali thought.
"We had to hold her back, you know," Sandy said.
"Hold who back?"
"Me," said Cocoa. "I was going to go in there and be all boss and get Maria out and defeat the queen so the people could actually have a nice ruler, but these two wouldn't let me. That, and one of the guards was ginormous."
"Like, 10 feet tall," agreed Sandy. "How are we going to get her out?"
"Did you not hear what I said?" said Ed. "There was a hole in the wall."
Cocoa and Sandy were both puzzled. "No there wasn't," they replied simultaneously.
Ed sighed. "I'll show her." Grabbing Ali by the arm, he dragged her off. Tom followed behind, wanting to see the dreaded castle.
After the sky had started to darken, Ed suddenly stopped.
"Wha-"
"Listen!" shushed Ed.
Ali listened closely, but she could hear nothing.
"Isn't it beautiful?"
"What?" replied Tom, confused. Ed stepped forward, entranced.
"Where are you going?" called Ali.
Ed didn't reply, and she had a horrible feeling that something bad was going to happen.
The red head had raised his hand in front of him, and when Ali squinted, she could make out etching in the tree in front of him. A flash of light flew off the oak, and Ali knew what she had been so worried about.
"Wait!" she called to Ed, but it was too late.

A/N Sorry it took so long to update, I could ramble on tons of excuses but none would be very good. Let's just say I'll try to update sooner next time.
Ed must have gotten himself into some trouble this time. Seeing and hearing things nobody else can... What could that all be about?
