Dear D
I'm pretty sure I can recognise a good man when I find one, without having to date a bunch of loser boys! The boys who have asked me out in town have all been revolting. They smoke and swear as if that proves how grown-up they are. They're clueless about what's important in life. I guess Toph (who asked me out at the garden centre) is nice and there's a kid on the bus (Greg) who doesn't smoke and behaves kind of normally. I'd consider talking to him if he didn't change into an idiot when his friends get on, when they all become loud and start showing off. The bus driver stopped the bus yesterday to tell them to keep it down. It's not just school kids on our bus, and a young mother complained to him about the swearing etc, and he laughed it off with the rest of them. I think he likes me (he seems to be looking at me whenever I glance over), but I wonder why he hangs out with such dumb brains. What does that say about him?? I don't have the energy to go there.
It's not like with you. I love writing to you because it's more of a conversation, A proper, grown-up conversation. You can't talk to boys my age like that.
