Thursday, Two Days to the End of the World

The journey back to London was marked by a heavy silence, an unspoken tension that lingered in the air of the Bentley. Crowley kept his focus on the road ahead, while Aziraphale settled into the passenger seat, lost in his thoughts. In the back, Y/N was seemingly lost in her own world, her gaze distant as she stared out into the growing darkness.

As the familiar sights of the countryside blurred by, the last rays of daylight gradually faded, giving way to a blanket of stars. The car's headlights illuminated the road ahead, casting long shadows from the trees that lined the route.

Y/N, however, was not entirely present in the car. Her mind had been wandering throughout the journey, and now it took her to a place she hadn't visited in a long time—a memory, clear as day.

.......

In the boundless expanse of creation, I worked diligently on sculpting life, crafting each species with care and precision. I was known as God's right-hand angel, alongside my twin brother, Lucifer, who always seemed to hover on the precipice of rebellion. It was in the early days of creation that Lucifer approached me while I was tending to my duties, sculpting animals that would inhabit the soon-to-be-formed Earth.

He appeared beside me, his presence both captivating and unnerving. "Y/N," he began, his voice tinged with a seductive allure that had drawn many angels to his cause. "Have you decided to join me yet?"

I paused in my work, my hands still, and looked at him with a mixture of curiosity and wariness. "Lucifer, you know I have no intention of joining your rebellion."

He tilted his head, studying me with an intensity that sent shivers down my celestial form. "Something has changed about you, sister," he mused, his eyes piercing mine. "You're not as steadfast as you once were."

I hesitated, my gaze drifting to the creatures I had been shaping. Lucifer was right, something had shifted within me, and I couldn't quite understand it. Was it the time spent with Raphael, the angel tasked with creating the stars and galaxies alongside me, that had ignited this inner turmoil?

Lucifer stepped closer, his presence almost overwhelming. "We're not so different, you and I," he purred, his words laced with temptation. "Even you, dear sister, couldn't resist the allure of sin."

My thoughts wandered to Raphael, the angel who had become my closest companion in the realm of creation. As I pondered the depth of my feelings for him, I couldn't help but consider that love between angels might be a sin in itself. My heart ached with an unfamiliar longing.

Lucifer's voice broke through my contemplation. "You'll join me, Y/N," he declared with conviction. "Sooner or later, you'll understand that there's no other path."

With that ominous proclamation, Lucifer withdrew, leaving me to grapple with the unsettling emotions he had stirred within me.

Hours passed, and I continued to work on my creations, fashioning animals of all shapes and sizes. Among them, I sculpted a red-bellied snake, its colours vibrant and its form elegant. When Raphael joined me, his presence radiated warmth and kindness, a stark contrast to Lucifer's allure.

I glanced up at him, my heart fluttering as I met his kind eyes. "Raphael, come see my latest creation. The red-bellied snake." I smiled fondly at him. "You know I found inspiration for it from your hair." I giggled.

"My hair? However, so?" Raphael chuckled.

I gazed at his hair, reaching up to run my fingers through his crimson locks. He smiled softly at the action. "It's like one of your gorgeous red nebulas. It's as if the stars themselves are woven into it." I dropped my hand back down as I showed Raphael the snake. "I wanted to make something that reflects that. So I made the snake. The red is its most striking feature. But the rest of it is black, so that when the sun reflects off its scales, it will shine like the stars in the sky." I explained eagerly.
