Heaven
I found myself in Heaven, but it wasn't the paradise one might imagine. Instead, I was seated in a vast, empty office overlooking the Earth, bound to a chair. Gabriel, flanked by Uriel and Sandalphon, strode in with a mocking grin and a false welcome.
"Ah, Aziraphale, so glad you could join us," Gabriel sneered, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
I couldn't help but return his contempt. "You could have just sent a message. I mean, a kidnapping in broad daylight..."
Gabriel chuckled, brushing off my complaint. "Call it what it was - an extraordinary rendition."
I sighed, trying to maintain my composure. "Honestly, Gabriel, this is all rather excessive."
Intrigued, Gabriel asked Uriel, "Now, when is our new associate arriving?"
Uriel replied, "Should be here soon."
Gabriel's eyes glinted with excitement, and he leaned closer to me. "I think you're going to like this. I really do. And I bet you didn't see this one coming."
The office door swung open, and an angel and a demon carrying a bag entered. The angel approached Gabriel, informing him that the next person he was meeting had arrived. Gabriel's smile grew wicked as he addressed me. "I'll be seeing your friend Y/N right after I'm done with you. So, let's not waste any more time."
The demon unzipped the bag, releasing a swirling storm of hellfire. I faced the inferno with a stoic demeanour, my emotions concealed.
Gabriel, clearly irked, stated his point. "So, with one act of treason, you... averted the war."
"Well, I think the greater good..." I tried to explain, but Gabriel cut me off.
He moved closer, his tone turning menacing. "Don't talk to me about the greater good, sunshine. I'm the Archangel fսcking Gabriel. And I am meant to make an example out of traitors."
I understood what was about to happen. As Uriel released my bonds, I stood up and straightened my outfit, maintaining an air of politeness. My farewell to the angels was simple: "Well... Lovely knowing you all. May we meet on a better occasion."
Gabriel's patience was wearing thin. "Shut your stupid mouth and die already." I gave him a polite smile and obediently entered the flames.
The angels watched in shock as I remained untouched within the inferno, managing to crack my neck as an added dramatic touch. A deep growl escaped me, and I sent a tongue of fire in their direction. They leapt back, clearly shaken.
Gabriel muttered, "It may be worse than we thought."
