Take A Bullet For Her

Selina stretched in front of the mirror. She could already hear the people outside cheering for her. "Selina are you ready?" her trainer asked from behind the bathroom door. "Give me a minute and I'll come out." she briefly washed her face with cold water. When she came out her trainer came towards her. 

"So you know you have to fight Damien!" her trainer informed her. "What? I thought I had to fight Thomas?" She asked confused as she wrapped her fists. "There was probably a small change in plan but you can also fight him and definitely defeat him!" he motivated her. She sighed and got up to go into the ring. 

Damien has been a Russian boxing champion since he started fighting in the underground. However, that doesn't stop Selina from fighting him because she wants to overcome this challenge, but it is also her wish to have fought against him once. She doesn't have much experience with boxing herself. She only started doing it ten years ago, when she was 12. 

"Hello my dear fighting people and welcome to today's fight. It's going to be extremely interesting as our breathtaking Selina fights against the fearsome Damien!" The announcer said thrilling and the crowd cheered wildly. The two fighters got into the ring and warmed themself up.

"The fight begins in: 3. 2. 1!" The announcer shouted and the two fighters moved towards each other. 

"What's a girl doing in the ring?" Damien provoked. "What's a wimp doing in the ring?" Selina countered, smiling. Damien didn't like it that a female person was talking to him like that. 

Damien performed a roundhouse kick and immediately followed up with a frontal punch. Selina, however, was able to defend off the attack. 

"I've seen better kicks." Selina provoked him this time. You could tell he was angry. "Okay then, show me what you're capable of!" he prompted her. She took her chance and did an uppercut and hit him with a side kick on his hip. He briefly doubled over in pain but straightened up again. "Not bad for a girl." he cleared his throat. 

"Stop talking and finish him off!" her coach shouted from the bench. 

"I would love to talk to you some more, but as you can hear I have to finish the fight now!" She said and landed a jab on him and then did a back kick to the stomach. However, Damien did a foot sweep which caused Selina to fall on the floor. Damien took his chance and pounced on her. "You're going to finish things here? I don't think so as you lie beneath me!" he said laughing.

"We can elaborate on it later, don't you think? But let's concentrate on the fight, my dear!" she flirted and then had him in a choke hold. He tried to break away from it. 

"You're not so brave anymore huh?" she breathed heavily to him. Damien laughed and reached out with his arm, hitting her several times with his right elbow in her ribs. This makes her loosen her grip on him and he was able to free himself more easily. He then kicks her in the face which results in a knockout. 

"And it's a victory for Damien!" the announcer shouted and the crowd cheered like crazy. Some people booed him because they expected Selina to finish him off. Selina was then taken to her changing room by paramedics and her wound was initially treated. "Thank you, you can go now!" said her trainer and sent the paramedics out. "You can get up now. Clean yourself up. Meet me outside!" the trainer said to her seriously and disappeared. She sighed and stood up and stretched her limbs. 

As she came out of the shower, her locker room door was slammed open. Damien stood at the door and looked at her angrily. "Tell me, why did you just pretend to be knocked out?" he asked confused. She just shrugged her shoulder and packed her things. "That still doesn't answer my question!" he stopped her from packing. "Why should I tell you? It's none of your business. Be happy that you won and let me go now, I want to pack my things." she said annoyed and continued packing. He stood implausibly next to her. 

"But that wasn't a fair win!" he argued. "Do you think people here fight fairly?" She looked at him and saw him shaking his head slightly. "No exactly, so stop complaining like a girl who just got her period! Bye." She said goodbye and went out. Damien couldn't believe that she was talking to him like that. Again. He got angry and kicked the locker and then shortly afterwards disappeared from the room to find Selina.

Selina angrily stomped out of the building "What's his problem? He should consider himself lucky that he won. He doesn't know anything!" she mumbled angrily but suddenly someone pulled her around the corner. "Why can't you leave me alone?" She said annoyed without looking up to see who the perpetrator was. 

"Nice to see you again too." Lorenzo smiled down at her. Selina took a few steps back. "Wait, what are you doing here and how do you know I'm here?" she asked confused. He just grinned. "Stop grinning so stupidly and tell me now." she whined. "I'll put it this way. Someone told me I should come to this exciting fight today. And I actually only saw you here by chance." He replies, looking down at her. 

"Do not look at me like that!" She snapped at him and turned around to walk away, but he held her arm so she couldn't go any further. "Where are you going? We haven't seen each other for a long time, shouldn't we catch up on some things?" Lorenzo said. "We're not friends so let me go now!" she warned him. "What if I don't let go?" he challenged her. "Then I have to kick your ass!" 

"But I didn't see that in your fight today that you kicked Damien's ass!" he provoked. "Oh now are you comparing our current situation to the fight or what?" Selina said and took a step closer to him. "Then let's find out if you can do it." He said and walked to the ring. He took off his jacket and warmed himself up a bit. "I can't believe it." She murmured as she walks over to him on the ring. She puts her things away and also takes off her jacket. 

The two stood ready to fight. Lorenzo took the first step towards her with a front kick. Selina easily blocked it and immediately attacked him with a side kick and a jab. Lorenzo was also able to fend it off well. Then he kicked out of the turn and hit her in the stomach. She doubled over but put up with the pain and stood up straight again. "Tell me, how do you fight so well?" Selina suddenly asked and hit him head on. "I took boxing training myself." He replies as he gave a side kick. Selina took the chance and held his leg and did a foot sweep. Lorenzo fell to the ground and she fell on top of him. She gave him many blows. However, he tried to fight them all off, which was difficult for him. Then she holds him in choke hold until Lorenzo taps her thigh. She let go of him and jumped up happily. 

"Well, I told you I'd kick your ass!" Lorenzo coughed a few times as he started to laugh. "Yes, you did."

However, they stopped laughing when they heard quick footsteps. They both looked in that direction and saw Damien storming towards Selina. She tried to dodge but he knocked her to the ground. "Tell me, what's that supposed to mean? Why were you able to win against him so easily?" he asked her. She looked at him in shock. "Is that why you had to bump into me like that?" she shouted at him. "I don't want you to walk away from the situation." That sentence flipped a switch in her head. She threw him away with overwhelming strength and stood up. She then took her things and left without another word. The two men stood there in surprise. 

"I think you pissed her off?" Lorenzo said to Damien. Damien didn't immediately recognize Lorenzo who he was. "What are you doing here? Can't your mafia leave me alone?" Damien said frustrated. Lorenzo laughed and leaned against one of the ring posts. "I don't think so. I don't know what the boss wanted with that either." Lorenzo crossed his arms thoughtfully. "Whatever. See you around." Damien says goodbye and leaves Lorenzo alone in the ring.
