The next afternoon, Taelyn had fully accepted the fact that she had to trap herself inside Heeseung's house in order to stay alive. This meant that she couldn't have contact with the outside world, leaving her mother and Taehyung searching for her.

It was so boring. All she did for most of the day was sit on Heeseung's couch and watch TV. She was entertained because she was mentioned on all news outlets as a missing person. It amused her, but it was quite unsettling that a lot of South Korea knew her name because of her entanglement to the mafia.

Taelyn was stripped of her freedom due to this sudden popularity, but that happening is always a given when you become a recognizable person. This is probably how K-Pop idols feel like after they sign their lives away to their company.

Although she wasn't home alone, she felt like she was. She hadn't seen Heeseung since last night when he walked in with hickeys. When he finally showed his face, he was in the outfit he wore when he was going to assassinate her. He notices her gulp when she sees his attire.

It had bring forth a traumatic memory in her head.

Sighing, he approaches her by sitting down on the spot beside her and giving her a warm facial expression. It irked her how he suddenly acted as if he didn't tell her to go die last night.

Don't come near me, she exhales out in her mind. I don't want to smell the woman you fucked last night. To her dismay, the woman's scent was still evident on him. "I'll be back," he tells her. "I have another mission I need to do."

He was the one who was ignoring the other for half of yesterday and today, yet he gets to approach her like nothing happened. She coldly remarks to get on his nerves, "Does this mission involve murdering someone?"

That's when he looks down, indirectly answering her question. What else could she expect from a someone who was apparently the best sniper of Korea? If it wasn't her dead today, it was someone else.

Life is a grind. As an aspiring nurse, she related in that sense. It was like pursuing your career, you either succumb to failure or be the best of the best. Maybe the two were indeed similar in that sense.

"Well," she purses her lips into a thin line. "Stay safe. I guess." This interaction was so awkward. Conveniently, the doorbell rings. Heeseung gets up to answer it.

On the other side of the door was Jake, who was wearing casual clothes. Weren't they on the same team? Upon seeing one another, they dap each other up. "Good luck on the mission," Jake smiles. "Everyone is waiting for you in the van."

Jake pulls back from the dap, but Heeseung's hold on him was still firm. The boy, who was trying to let go, sends a bewildered expression. Heeseung's eyes darken, "Don't do anything to her."
