"Baby, are you still mad at me?" the seventeen year old boy knocks on his girlfriend's door. He had let himself into her house upon realizing that no one else was home. When Taelyn doesn't respond, Heeseung pleadingly asks the same questions again.
Although her response was a bit delayed, she finally and firmly mutters a "I'm still mad at you." This makes his heart melt. She couldn't tell at the moment but he loved his girlfriend with all his heart, he would do anything for her.
However, they would constantly get into arguments. He used to be a fuckboy, plus he was and is someone who got into fights. He always started brawls then got hurt at the end, and whenever his body was broken, he'd look for Taelyn to get comforted by her. It always broke her heart to see him that way, and she was tired of it.
It was inevitable for him to get into lots of fights as he enrolled himself in a high-school gang during freshman year. When you join a gang, you swear utmost loyalty to it. Additionally, the feeling of punching someone across the face was exhilarating to Heeseung. He would fight for a multitude of reasons: to steal, to scare a threat, to taunt, to physically prove a point, and for fun.
In regard to him being a fuckboy, he truly was one before he fell in love with Taelyn. He would get a girl, fuck her, then move on to the next one. It was as if he wore his cock on his sleeve. He was rather charming, so it was hard to not fall for his seduction. That was until Taelyn. They used to dispute often since he was the only girl who refused him which he wasn't exactly used to.
To sum up, instead of him charming her into his bed, she indirectly charmed him into his first serious relationship. He changed his lifestyle for her and then belonged to her only. He loved her so much that he hadn't even sexually touched her yet although six months into the relationship already.
Taelyn was one of the few virgins in her grade, so she was quite insecure about her sexual appeal. It didn't help that her mother would nag her to save herself until marriage. This led her to be overly clueless and innocent. In school, she would get taunted by Heeseung's ex-flings about how she was inexperienced and that she was going to let Heeseung down during their first time, but he would tell her to not listen to them and that they'd only ever fuck when she was ready.
It was a good thing her mother wasn't home since she despised him for being a 'bad influence on her daughter.' Her older brother used to not be so fond of Heeseung either, but he grew to like him after he planned a big birthday party for Taelyn. "I'm coming in, okay?" Heeseung warns her. He turns the doorknob and sees her curled up in a ball, her back facing him.
Although she was so mad at him, she spares a glance at him. He had a guilty expression plastered all over his injured face. There was a large, purple bruise around his left eye, and his lower lip was busted. Furthermore, the rest of his body was scathed, meaning he was beaten up badly.
What infuriated her was that he promised her he'd never fight again yesterday after she threatened to break up with him, so when she saw the videos - sent by her best friend, Darnell - of him getting beat up this morning, she called him on the phone and yelled at him. Starting to become teary-eyed, she returns to staring down at her bed. "You broke your promise," she sniffles.
Defeatedly, he goes to her bed and sits on the spot beside her. He kisses the back of her shoulder before leaning his upper body against her bed frame. He attempts to justify himself, "Princess-"
"Why are you even here, Hee?" she quietly says. "Let me think about us in peace." By that, she meant that she was weighing between two options: staying with him and potentially keep getting hurt by him or breaking up with him and spend the rest of her life missing him.
Knowing what she meant without her explicitly saying so, he wanted to soothe her. "Come here." She hated how he could control her with minimal words. Hesitantly, she obeys. She gets up and crawls toward him. He wraps his arms around her small body and embraces her softly. She nuzzles her face into his chest, continuing to cry. He helplessly whispers, "I love you."
"I'm so sick of it," she whimpers softly, trying to not give into him entirely. Heeseung cups her face with one hand, softly caressing her cheek with his thumb, as he listened to her rant. "You already know that I want to become a nurse when I grow up, so why do you keep indulging yourself in these things that oppose my entire being? You're aware how much it hurts me.If you truly loved me, you would've taken the hint."
"Taelyn, I have taken the hint. I left the gang." She gasps and quickly gets up, finally looking him in the eyes. His Bambi eyes lock unto hers as she observes his face beaten up face. He weakly smiles, ecstatic that she finally showed him her face, "There's my pretty girl."
"You didn't start that fight?" They say that the eyes are the window to the soul, so she burns her pupils into his, searching for any dishonesty in them.
"Never question my love for you. Wait." Grunting a bit, he takes off his blood-stained t-shirt, revealing his horrifyingly bruised body. Taelyn wanted to look away, but he softly grabs her chin and makes her look at him. "I refused to leave the gang back then because I was scared - I was scared of this happening to me, my pride wouldn't have been able to take it. But when you told me you were going to end things with me, my fear of losing you overcame that fear. So I let my biggest fear happen to me. Every bruise you see here happened because I love you. So much."
"Oh, my God." She exasperatedly clasps her hands against her mouth.
"I meant what I said to you yesterday," he says. He lifts a hand up and begins wiping her tears, "I told my gang I was done. Next thing I knew, all the guys I once saw as my friends were beating me up. I didn't mean to break my promise to you, so can you stop crying now? You're making me feel awful."
"I'm so sorry, Hee. I shouldn't have ignored you. I didn't know this would happen to you. I didn't think they would hurt you because you were one of their best fighters. I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you earlier without letting you explain," she began stammering.
She's so adorable, he thought to himself. He exhales out a chuckle, and his chest heaves up then down. "Dont worry about it. Kiss me, and I'll feel better."
She leans forward to do so but is stopped when she eyeballs what she was about to kiss. "But your lips are busted-"
"Fuck that," he annoyedly cuts her off with a kiss.
