Rivals

Jeonghan and Joshua are known as Korea's two greatest boxers, and the fans know and eagerly await the fight between the two men because they know it's going to be great.

Right now the two men are in the same locker room, they shouldn't be but they're made to be and for good reason, they're secretly a couple, yes, they're supposed to be rivals but the feelings are uncontrollable, honestly they've always trained together since they were kids, yes it's a passion that's run in their veins since childhood, they've always promised never to fight each other and yet here comes this day.

To tell the truth, they've always put it off because they don't want to fight each other and become rivals, but they clearly have no choice this time, no excuses have been valid and they have to step into the ring.

" Hannie-ya, I don't want to have no mercy on you in the ring. "

" Shuji-ya, as much as we love each other we owe it to each other to really fight. We've got fans to please. Well, I don't want to be hard on you too, I want to be hard on you only in bed, but not in the ring."

Jeonghan smiles wryly and places a quick kiss on his lover's lips, Joshua blushes a little during the kiss and thinks deeply at..somes night's with Jeonghan...Hum, nevermind.

The blond steps back before his boss arrives and finishes putting on the belt of his pants before leaving with his boss.

Joshua sighs and does the same, the two boys arrive at the ring, the American eyes glistening as Jeonghan drops his shirt, but he quickly recovers by remembering why he's here today.

He hears the cheers of his fans, but also of Jeonghan's fans, and it makes his heart beat faster than normal. This fight is going to be complicated, because for the first time Jeonghan won't be his boyfriend but his rival.

They must show no mercy towards each other, that's the rule of the game. After several heavy breaths, the presenter launches the first fight between the two men.

The two boys keep a decent distance apart, then suddenly Joshua starts screaming in pain, reaches into his pocket and grabs a knife to put a quick wound on his leg. The wound is obvious and deep.

" Mr. Hong, what's going on ? "

" I warned my boss that my old wound could reopen at any moment. This fight I can't do it. Mingyu please take my place. "

Jeonghan immediately understands why Joshua has done this, he categorically refuses to play against Jeonghan because he loves him, he refuses to be his boyfriend's rival.

The blond found himself up against Mingyu, and to his astonishment, he let himself be pummeled - well, he fought, but he was still weak in his movements and very quickly landed with his back against the ring floor. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Seungcheol, so he slaps him on the hand to get him into the ring to replace him.

He gets out of the ring and goes to the infirmary because he knows his boyfriend is there, and he's right to say so, because his supposed rival is indeed there, with a bandage around his leg.

Jeonghan smiles and approaches his lover, sits down on the bed and kisses him directly on the lips, pulling back just afterwards and resting his forehead against Joshua's.

" Did you do that on purpose so you wouldn't fight me ? "

" Hannie we always promised never to be rivals so I had to find a solution. "

" Still, you blamed your boss when you did this to yourself."

" It's crazy that nobody but you noticed that I did it all by myself. "
Jeonghan starts laughing and unties his forehead from Joshua's to place his lips on the tip of his lover's nose, then on his lover's lips. The kiss is soft and full of love, as usual. It lasts longer than the first two they shared, until they hear a cough.

Jeonghan pulls away from Joshua and looks towards the door, rolling his eyes as he realizes who it is.

" Cheol is the fight over ? "

" Yes, I've neither lost nor won."

" What's that supposed to mean ? "

" The only match the fans want to see is you against your lover so your bosses decided to postpone the match."

Jeonghan looks Joshua straight in the eye and tilts his head back because he's disgusted by this announcement. The two lovers are doing everything they can not to be rivals, but their bosses are doing everything they can to make sure they are. Speaking of which, here they are, arriving in the infirmary.

" Joshua, you could have told me..."

" I've told you many times, boss."

" You never told me you were in a relationship with your rival. You never told me you'd do anything not to fight him."

" Wh... how did you know ? "

" Joshua you left your knife in the ring, the blood was fresh a sign that you hurt yourself. Honestly I didn't think you'd be able to go so far as to do that to yourself just so you wouldn't be Jeonghan's rival. "

The bosses look at each other and nod gently.

The bosses smiled at the two boys, then decided to leave them alone. Seungcheol had already disappeared to see a fighter from his team.

The two lovers find themselves alone again, and they're delighted to learn that they'll never have to fight each other, they'll never be rivals, and that makes them happy. Their two teams are rivals, but there's absolutely no need for them to be rivals, to their great delight.
