Chapter 12:

I let out a sigh and smiled. "Friday, finally." This week felt longer than it actually was, with dealing with Itachi and my never ending thoughts; I was exhausted.

After our dinner conversation the other night, it felt like the wind was pulled from my sails and now I was just bobbing in the middle of the ocean. Believe him, don't believe him? Pursue this relationship or stay friends?

I kept going back and forth, didn't help that he texted me and called me every night as if i'd somehow forget him every few hours.

Not knowing how to move from my current emotional stump, I realized I was just kind of stagnant and it was frustrating as fuck.

After saying bye to all the kids, I realized Itachi never came to pick up Zu, I walked up to him while he was coloring and squatted down.

"Zu?" I pushed his hair back when he looked up at me and I smiled. "Where's your dad?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. It's okay though, I get to stay here with you."

I laughed and shook my head. "I'm glad you have fun here, Zu."

A knock at the door made you turn and you gasped, while standing. "Sasuke?"

Izuna also gasped and ran up to Sasuke, he held his arms open and Sasuke scooped him up into a hug, planting a kiss on his cheek. "Hi, little man! You ready to go?"

You walked up to the duo with a smile. "You're picking him up today, Sasuke?"

He nodded then smirked. "Surprised you remember me, y/n." He put Izuna down and pointed to his desk. "Go get your stuff."

We watched him run off before I smiled at Sasuke. "Well, you look just like Itachi." I teased, remembering that he hated that.

His smirked dropped and he tched, making you laugh at his reaction. "I'm joking, although you were much younger the last time I saw you."

"I was." He held open his arms and you chuckled before letting him hug you. "It's been a long time."

"It has." You said when the hug ended. "Where's Itachi?"

"Busy." He said shortly and I raised a brow at him. "You know he'd be here if he could."

I didn't know how to respond to that so I just nodded, his phone beeped and he looked at the screen with furrowed brows. I almost questioned if everything was okay but Izuna stopped me from asking.

"Ready!" He smiled and I squatted down to give him a hug.

"I'll see you later tonight?"

"Yes." He nodded and tapped my forehead, Sasuke sucked in a breath but I ignored him, giving Izuna a forehead tap with a smile. It had become our daily thing when saying goodbye and I wasn't stopping just because Sasuke was here.

I stood and he grabbed Sasuke's hand, he smiled down at him but it dropped when he looked at me. "Tell the truth."

"What?" I asked confused, he didn't respond and turned to leave. I stared at the closed door for a few seconds before shaking my head.
