CROW (ITACHI X READER)

Chapter Seven:

"Mama?"

The soft echo of Zu's voice made my lips twitch, like they were trying to pull into a smile but couldn't.

"Mama?"

Oh, my baby boy. I wanted to cry, my mind was being especially cruel by giving me this dream. He sounded so close, like I could pull him into my arms.

"Mama, wake up. Please." He sniffled.

It's okay, baby boy. You're okay.

"Mama!"

I jolted and gasped, my eyes widened when the haze of sleep cleared. Zu was leaning over me, his little hands on my cheeks and tears falling from his eyes.

"Zu?" I gasped, when he nodded, a strength I didn't know I had overtook me and I pulled him into my chest. "Oh my God." I buried my nose into his hair, inhaling his sent and I finally let my tears fall.

"Mama!" He wailed into my chest and I squeezed him tighter.

"Oh, my baby boy. I missed you." I hiccuped.

"I missed you." He cried and we held each other for a longest time. I gazed around the room and I tensed, it was a dark and dingy room. I could hear water dripping and air smelled stagnant, like it hasn't been used in a long time.

"Zu, baby. How long have you been here?" I whispered.

"I- I don't know.. I woke up and I wa-was here. I'm- i'm scared, mama."

"Shhh." I kissed his head. "It'll be okay." I hope.

We just held each other while I took stock of everything I could see, what I could feel, smell. I realized we were chained or restrained in anyway.

There was a single door and a single window but other than that, it was bare. Before I could take a calming breath, I froze; I didn't notice it before but now that my eyes adjusted, I could see it all.

Stains on the floor and walls, I didn't' know for sure but I could guess what it really was. Blood. Where the fuck were we?

"Zu?" I kissed his head again and he nodded. "Can you tell me what happened, baby? How did you get here? Why aren't you in school?" Where is Itachi?

"Helen told me we were going to have a fun day instead." He whispered and I clenched my jaw, how dare she bring him into this. My fucking son. "She said we were getting milkshakes, I got a chocolate one and then..."

His words faded but I could fill in the blanks. I was going to kill her. "I can't remember." He cried and I rubbed his back.

"It's okay, that's good. Thank you for trying."

"Why are you here, mama? Why did you run away?" He cried harder and the breath I sucked in harshly threatened to choke me.

"Wha- What?" I didn't know if I stuttered because of crying or because of his words. Run away?

"Daddy said you ran away from us. Why did you run away?"
