AUTHOR NOTE: Buckle up 🙃

Y/N

The house was eerily quiet when I got there but the air was heavy. Only a light in the kitchen illuminated the space, making the atmosphere ominous.

I could tell there were no staff on the property because they could always be heard in someway but there wasn't a sound. There were no guards roaming the perimeter causing the energy was both vacant and buzzing. I shuddered out a shaky breath and goosebumps covered my arms.

A door opened and closed and I stiffened near the front door. A figure turned the corner and I prayed I didn't sweat off the make up I put on my neck.

I recognized Max when he stepped into the moon light streaming in the windows and my shoulders slumped.

"What did you do?" He whispered, his eyes wide and panicked. "What did you do, y/n?"

"I-I didn't do anything."

"I can't help you if you don't tell me." He pleaded and my eyes teared up.

"I swear I didn't do anything. I promise. I didn't betray him." I sniffled and his shoulders slumped.

"Then i'm sorry." He cleared his throat and gripped the back of my neck, I bit my lip to stop the whimper crawling up my throat from the pain.

He led me towards Itachi's office but he might has well have been leading me to my hanging. Still, I held out hope, hope that Itachi would see the truth in my eyes.

He didn't bother knocking and opened the door. My eyes roamed around the room seeing that there was only Damon and Itachi.

"The guest of honor." Itachi said, his back against me while he gazed out the window.

I locked eyes with Damon who looked like he was struggling. His body on alert and mouth thin but his eyes held the same emotion as Max. Pleading.

"Where have you been, angel? Hm?"

"I-" I gasped when Max squeezed and shut my eyes.

"I suggest you don't lie." Itachi threatened.

I breathed deeply for a few seconds to make sure my voice didn't shake. "My father called me today."

Everyone froze, Itachi looked like a statue and Max quietly cursed behind me. "And?"

"He forced me to meet him."

He chuckled then. "Forced?"

"Yes, he forced me to go. I didn't have a choice-" My sentence broke off and I flinched when he whirled around and threw his glass against the opposite wall. The sound of glass shattering mimicked the sound of my heart.

"Tell me how he forced you."

"He sent me a picture of Zu and Helen at the park. He said he'd do something if I didn't come." I said the words quickly. "Check my phone."

Itachi nodded and Max grabbed my phone before throwing it in Itachi's direction. The move hurt more than I thought it would. He wouldn't come near me.
