CROW (ITACHI X READER)

Chapter Five:

Itachi
Earlier in the day

"Zu, please we have to get you to school." I pleaded.

"No! I don't wanna!" He screamed before his eyes filled with tears. "I want mama! Where is she?! Get her! I want her!" He wailed and my heart broke.

I sank down on my knees and tried to pull him into a hug but he pushed my chest. "No! Mama!" He yelled and pounded his tiny fist against me. I stayed still, letting him get it out.

"I want my mama." He whimpered and when I pulled him towards me, he let me. He collapsed onto my lap, his tears still flowing and I wrapped him tightly in my arms.

"I know, i'm so sorry." I spoke against his head, he didn't know the real reason I was apologizing but he didn't care.

After all this time, I knew what my heart knew from the beginning; that y/n wasn't who betrayed me. At first I truly believe she didn't but I couldn't stop myself from thinking that maybe it was unintentional or she was being forced but there was no proof.

"Where is she?" He hiccuped. "I want mama to come home."

"She'll come home to you." To us. I just needed to fix it first.

He pushed me away and ran towards Helen where he wrapped his arms around her waist tightly. "I'll get him to school." She replied softly and I bowed my head.

"Thank you."

She didn't say anything and I stayed in that position until the front door closed and her car could be heard driving away.

"Well that's depressing." I sighed at Obito's voice, he's been a pest since I revealed y/n was alive. Taking any chance to dig the knife deeper.

You deserve it. I cursed at the thought and raised my head, giving him an unimpressed look.

"Don't look at me like that, you're the one kneeling in the middle of the living room all pathetic like."

"Zu, had a breakdown."

"Shit." His smirk dropped. "What happened?"

I sighed heavily. "He didn't want to go school then cried his heart out while screaming 'i want mama."

He scoffed and my eyes narrowed. He rolled his eyes: "Fuck off, Itachi. His mama is in the basement where no one but Helen has access to her. Excuse me for not being sympathetic towards you."

I sighed as I got up and moved to grab my coat. "It's not just Helen."

"You don't count if she's sleeping when you sneak in."

I suppressed a groan of irritation, the fucker knew me best. I was a pussy, i'll admit it because I couldn't face her when she was awake. But I also couldn't go longer than 10 hours without being near her. Pathetic.

"She still not eating?" He asked quietly and I clenched my jaw.

I shook my head and he sighed, knowing the full extent of what she's been doing. When I wasn't watching the feed, he was. I didn't fully trust she wouldn't hurt herself physically or escalate more into her spiral.
