Chapter VI

As I stood there with tears streaming down my face and carefully wiped them away. The sadness I felt was overwhelming, and I couldn't help but feel lost in my emotions. Suddenly, my phone rang, and I saw that it was Emily calling. Despite feeling hesitant to answer, I took a deep breath and answered the call. "Hey, Are you okay?" She asked in a worried tone. "I'm fine just packing my things," I said before I went to my room to get my things. I saw something that looked familiar."Wait is that what I think it is? My family photo" I said to myself while looking at the photo and smiling. I quickly packed the things that I needed and went downstairs with my bags. Emily came to pick me up. I said bye to the officer and entered the car from which Emily and her dad came. As I settled into the comfortable window seat of the car, I glanced outside and noticed that it had started to rain. The raindrops raced down the glass window, creating mesmerizing patterns. Eventually, we reached our destination and I observed that the rain had ceased. Emily lived in an two storey house. When we entered the house I saw Mrs. Smith waiting for us. "Welcome to our home dear, you must be Luna right?"She asked "Yes mam, I am Luna Celeste and it is an honor to meet you" I said "Oh dear, no need to be formal just call me Anna" She said, "Thank you, Miss Anna." I said "You're welcome dear and feel free to ask anything you want, don't be shy," She said in a gentle tone " Yes, feel free to ask if you need help as my wife said, and also call me Richard dear," he said "Ok Mr.Richard," I said to him "Sweetie go ahead and show you the guest room," He asked Emily " yes dad, follow me Luna I will show you the guest room" She led me down a narrow hallway and opened the door to the room. Although small, the room was surprisingly spacious and airy. My eyes were immediately drawn to the wide window, offering a breathtaking view of the starry sky. The stars seemed to twinkle and dance in the darkness, creating a mesmerizing scene. I couldn't help but stare in awe. Slowly, I placed my belongings on the cool marble floor, still captivated by the beauty of the night sky. I went downstairs with Emily to eat dinner, they had made fried chicken with mashed potato. "So dear I know that you asked us about staying here but I wanted to know the reason," He asked, suddenly Emily whispered into his "Dad she is not comfortable with you asking those kinds of questions to her, She has her reasons," she said to him. After dinner I went to the room and got into my pajamas when I went to pack my school bag for tomorrow, I saw the necklace mom gave me...
