We are now at home and in bed. I'm in bed with my baby, while Bayanda is on the couch, working.

I get and I sit beside him.

Me: so we're moving and you only tell me now?
Baya: baby, look...

He moves closer to me and holds my hands.

Baya: mommy, I'm not sure if you remember the reasons why we came here but I will remind you either way. baby, we came here for your studies and to get you away from that place that reminds you of all these bad things.
Me: but you are taking me back to that place.
Baya: baby, we can't stay in the Cape forever. we have to return home, where we left our families.
Me: do you have any other reason?
Baya: well, I thought that we could expand so I built another surgery in Joburg. I need to be there to start everything out, I can't have another doctor in my new surgery.

I just nod.

Baya: promise me that you'll think about it?
Me: but the Cape holds good memories for us, I love it here. we have even fully established ourselves as owners of surgeries and businesses.
Baya: baby, I know that.
Me: and I love this house.
Baya: this house will forever be ours. this will remain our home forever and if it's what you want, we can always return.

I nod because I will make sure that we return.
