I can't believe how life turns around and hands you a surprise. While working in the ER a tiny girl arrived with her mother who was in labor and unconscious. We were told she was conscious until moments after they got her in the ambulance the little girl was with her. Tessa Grace Grey was the child's name and Susannah Alexander was the mother's name. I have to wonder if the child is related to us. I look things up and see that the birth certificate says Grey, but it doesn't say who the father of the baby is. I ask my sons in private if they knew Susannah Alexander and neither did. We delivered her second child and she passed away after we spent hours trying to bring her back to life. Her son was taken to the NICU and placed on oxygen. Baby boy Alexander died after being taken to the NICU. Tessa had no one at all, we found out after seeing miss Alexander's medical records. We found them, we also discovered that miss Alexander had developed sepsis and it spread through her body and the baby contracted it. It was too late to save either of them. We still are waiting on DNA testing with the boys, I then asked Carrick if he knew Susannah and he didn't. So I asked him to take a DNA test just in case the girl could be a family members child. Soon we got the results and it turns out to be a blood relatives child. Carrick's brother and his children were killed in a house fire about the time that Tessa was born.

Carrick
After getting the news that Tessa is my great niece we file for custody of her. We are older but we are her family and the only ones she has. My brother's estate was left to me. We thought everyone died in the fire and was hoping someone would come forward to claim the estate. I made sure everything was cared for and profits were made. Christian helped with part of it and Elliott helped rebuild the house that burned. It was a major task. The life insurance policies were another matter. We have the policy numbers by way of the attorney. So now we have an heir to put the estate in trust to. All of it was put in trust when I was called by the attorney. The little girl is the right age to be my nephew Lawrence's daughter. We went to get the things from miss Alexander's house and found out they had very little and the landlord was demanding rent. I told him that with all the violations I saw he needed to let me go inside and get their things or I would make a call to the authorities and get him shut down. We have brought all of the things from their apartment and stored everything until we can go through things. We got all of Tessa's things and had to throw out her bed and just bought new furniture for her room. We put her in the extra room across from ours. She is four years old and we had to put a child gate up and placed a monitor by her bed. The child safety rails are there and she can get up to go to the restroom. A night light will turn on when it senses movement.

Elliott
We are meeting Tessa today, she is our second cousin. If mom hadn't been attending physician in the ER the day her mother was brought in we probably would not have found out about her at all. She's four going on forty. Mom told us she knew her name, address, phone number and where her mother kept the important documents. I doubt many children knew that. I guess she gets her brains from the Grey family. Dad's pretty smart, he isn't the top lawyer in the west coast for no reason, well we think he is.

Kate
David is two years old and is trying our patience with his no answer to his stopping his bad behaviors. The time alone chair is worn out. Elliott has built several of them for easy access to them at this point. I never thought I would be a mother so soon after marrying Elliott, but I am trying to be a good wife and mother. Elliott has been busy building his latest company and now he wants another child. I started photographing children and doing some commercial photography for ads. I wanted to get into animation as well as what we are doing at the studio. Jose has a lot of great ideas and we have bought a new building and Elliott hired people who can build it to our specifications. We want a sound stage and recording studio along with some new equipment to expand into animatronics. It has enough land around it to do various projects. Today we meet Tessa and we are bringing her gifts, of course David wants gifts as well. We have hidden gifts from family members and bring them out in times like this. It stops his tantrums, usually. I don't know how he is going to handle someone taking the spotlight off him in the family.

Anastasia
Christian and I are both going to get the when are you two going to have a child question. We aren't ready to have children and truth be told neither were Elliott and Kate, but life had different ideas for them. Kate wasn't thrilled at being a stepmother, but she definitely wasn't ready to be the baby's mother full time, but she adopted him because she loved Elliott and she loves David now. I guess big David tried his best to get little David back and demanded monetary compensation from Elliott and Kate. He has a restraining order against him now. He was dating Leila Williams but she dumped his ass when he tried to take little David away from his real father. Smart decision.

Christian
We arrive just as Mia arrives with a huge pink teddy bear in her arms for Tessa. I help her with it and hope it is all she has in her sports car. I was wrong she has dresses as well as shoes for our second cousin. I chuckle as we head in and mom just shakes her head. We brought a couple of American Girl dolls with outfits. Anastasia said most girls love them. I hope that she does as well.

Mia
I bought the pink teddy bear after buying the outfits for Tessa. Matching shoes and purses to go with them. Christian helps me with the biggest teddy bear I could find in pink and I hand Jason some of the bags with the outfits for Tessa. I also bought matching slips and undies to go with them, the tights are on order.

Tessa
I am looking at my new family and they have brought me welcome to the family gifts. The pink teddy bear was a bit much and scared me. The dolls were nice and the books were great too but the clothes are beautiful and I loved them all. I never had anything like them ever. I think Mia and I are going to have a nice time dressing up.

Kate
Elliott gave David his gift and he was content with his building set. Elliott helped him out.
