Yoongi POV
"Hyung, I think these are some of the best batches yet." Jungkook mumbles in surprise, munching on one of the leftover cupcakes that Namjoon had made yesterday as he comes back up front with his apron on. I smile proudly as I look over to Joon who's sat at one of the tables, just hanging out this point, glad that he's here to have heard Jungkook's compliment.
"Joon made those." I inform the youngest casually, small smirk on my lips as I move over towards the register when a lady walks in.
"Wait, for real? Hyung, these are so good!" Jungkook exclaims with wide eyes, and I don't miss the way Joon smiles shyly at the compliment, rubbing the back of his neck at being caught out. I don't say anything further on the matter for the moment though, focusing on the customer in front of me as I gather what she'd asked for and ring her up.
"I just followed the recipe Yoongi hyung has in the recipe binder. I didn't do anything special." Joon mumbles as the lady heads for the door once more. I just smile as I lean back against the counter behind me, content with this as I cross my arms over my chest.
"I don't know, Joon, we just might make a baker out of you yet. Don't be getting any big ideas of opening up your own shop around here though, got it?" I tease with a wink, causing Jungkook to laugh and Joon to widen his eyes. He's smiling too though, under the blush that taints his cheeks a soft hue of pink.
"I don't think you've got anything to worry about, Yoon." Joon answers with a soft chuckle. We all soon die down though, appreciating the quietness of our slow period, especially after yesterday's fiasco.
"I don't know if we're going to continue with catering orders. Yesterday was a shitshow trying to run the front of the house and get that order pulled together. I don't know how you kept up with me and got as much done yesterday on that order at the same time as you did, Joon. I know I kinda put you on the spot when you got in yesterday, and I don't want to do that to any of you. That's not fair to anyone." I think aloud, deciding to let the other two in on what I'm considering.
"I was just afraid the recipes weren't going to turn out as well as what you were anticipating, Yoongi. I felt bad that you didn't have any help up front to keep things moving smoothly like usual since I was in the back baking the whole time. I didn't mind the baking or how large the order was though." Joon argues gently, small frown on his face. I smile softly though, shaking my head.
"You are the whole reason I could keep the doors open last night. Business would've taken a serious downturn if you hadn't been in back turning all the orders I was asking you for on top of what I'd already asked you to do. I can keep up here moving as long as I've got someone supporting me in the back so that I don't run out of product." I reassure, more than grateful for him to have had my back yesterday. We were busier than we've ever been during the week, and from the moment it started, it didn't let up until we closed.
"Hyung, I don't think you should give up on the idea of doing catering. I think it was just the way timing worked out yesterday. I heard from Tae how insane it got early on, you and I both know that's an anomaly. I think we can handle it." Jungkook pipes up, causing me to hum in thought.
"I don't know. I don't like the idea of putting any of you under the gun like that, especially when you're first walking in." I mumble, still not so certain of the idea. I'd been so excited yesterday when we had gotten the call, felt so good to have someone enjoy our product enough to want to have it catered. That excitement got drowned out when we got swamped and never got a break from it. Joon and I didn't get to eat dinner before ten o'clock, having gone to grab food before even bothering to clean the place up because neither of us had eaten since lunch.
"Yeah, but it might get easier the more orders like that you do. It's not like any of us hate baking, and once you teach Namjoon on piping the frosting, it'll get even easier. Plus, it's not always going to be as busy as it was yesterday, so it won't always be such a mad dash to squeeze it in. Give it some time and give it a few more tries before you decide to do away with it altogether. Tae told me how excited you were. Don't give up on it yet." Jungkook counters with a small smile. I take a deep breath at what he's suggesting, reluctantly nodding and giving in.
"You've never been one to back down from a challenge, Yoon. If you want to add catering to part of the shops services, don't give up so soon. I know you'll figure out how to make it work." Joon adds gently, causing me to snap my gaze in his direction. He wears a warm smile though, small smile of my own forming at the reminder as I nod once more, appreciative to have such great friends who have my back like this.
